La Diversión Oriental en el Estado Sucre, Venezuela [ENG/ESP] @geronimamunoz

My people of Hive y 3Speak, greetings and blessings... today I bring you a sample of Oriental Fun called La Mariposita, given to you by Maestra Maria Rodriguez and Eduardo Fuentes, in Cumana, State of Sucre.

El video que les dejo, lo realizamos en la Escuela de Música Lino Gallardo en Caracas, que gentilmente brindó sus instalaciones para que los Maestros pudieran brindar sus conocimientos. Podrán observar que se destaca el Maestro José Gregorio "Gollo" Enis, en la ejecución del cuatro venezolano, en esta oportunidad, ofreciendo una explicación sobre la Diversión Oriental, lo acompañan Remigio "Morocho" Fuentes en la ejecución del Bandolín, ambos genuinos e insignes músicos de Cumaná, Estado Sucre. Por otra parte, El Profesor Pedro Albornoz en el Contrabajo y mi persona Gerónima Muñoz en la voz.

The video that I leave you, was made at the Lino Gallardo Music School in Caracas, who kindly offered their facilities so that the teachers could offer their knowledge. You will be able to observe that Maestro José Gregorio "Gollo" Enis stands out in the execution of the Venezuelan cuatro, in this opportunity, offering an explanation on the Oriental Fun, accompanied by Remigio "Morocho" Fuentes in the execution of the Bandolín, both genuine and distinguished musicians from Cumaná, Sucre State. On the other hand, Professor Pedro Albornoz on the double bass and my person Gerónima Muñoz on vocals.

Según estudiosos de la materia como el Maestro Gollo Enis, opina que esta manifestación se dio a conocer en el oriente del país desde hace muchos años que en la actualidad está en proceso de extinción, por otra parte, los músicos y demás participantes, eran acompañados de instrumentos propios de la región, coloridas y rítmicas danzas protagonizadas por miembros de la comunidad, representando a un símbolo: Animal o planta.

According to scholars such as Maestro Gollo Enis, he believes that this manifestation has been known in the east of the country for many years and is currently in the process of extinction, on the other hand, the musicians and other participants were accompanied by instruments of the region, colorful and rhythmic dances performed by members of the community, representing a symbol: Animal or plant.

La Diversión Oriental: Se caracteriza por ser un baile con coreografía, vestuarios, escenografías, parlamentos y puesta en escena. Sin perder su raíz indígena han trascendido y evolucionado, adaptándose a los nuevos tiempos.
The Oriental Diversion: It is characterized for being a dance with choreography, costumes, scenery, speeches and staging. Without losing its indigenous roots, it has transcended and evolved, adapting to the new times.

Los instrumentos utilizados son el cuatro, la guitarra, la mandolina, tambor cuadrado o tambor, furruco en algunas ocasiones, maracas, cuatro venezolano y charrasca.

El Símbolo es el protagonista de la historia, como lo mencioné anteriormente puede representar una planta o animal. Se elabora con materiales sencillos para representar a la figura más importante en el baile.

El Bailador que recorre las calles llevando el Símbolo, imitando sus movimientos de forma histriónica. El Abanderado: Preside la comparsa ondeando su bandera y despeja el camino. Las Guarichas: Cantan y bailan los versos y estribillos de la Diversión, ataviadas con vistosos y coloridos trajes y accesorios. Otros personajes: los responsables de improvisar diálogos o decir los parlamentos previamente elaborados, cargados de picardía y humor; cantantes solistas y los músicos que suelen ir delante de la comparsa.

The Dancer who goes through the streets carrying the Symbol, imitating its movements in a histrionic way. The Standard Bearer: He presides over the troupe waving his flag and clears the way. The Guarichas: They sing and dance the verses and refrains of the Fun, dressed in colorful and colorful costumes and accessories. Other characters: those responsible for improvising dialogues or saying the previously elaborated parlaments, loaded with mischief and humor; solo singers and musicians who usually go in front of the troupe.

Las Diversiones son parte de nuestra gran diversidad y representan parte del Patrimonio Cultural de Venezuela, integran parte de las artes plásticas, escénicas, musicales del país, debido a su origen a través de la danza, la música y el teatro en la región oriental, específicamente en los estados Anzoátegui, Sucre, Nueva Esparta y Monagas, en toda época del año pero más durante los carnavales y fiestas decembrinas.

The Diversiones are part of our great diversity and represent part of the Cultural Heritage of Venezuela, they integrate part of the plastic, scenic and musical arts of the country, due to their origin through dance, music and theater in the eastern region, specifically in the states of Anzoátegui, Sucre, Nueva Esparta and Monagas, at all times of the year but more so during carnivals and Christmas celebrations.
