Hello community, in this week 206 our recent Spotlight Artist @cesaramos proposes poetry as a theme.

And what is poetry? I didn't look for a definition on Google because you can find it right there. Rather I will talk about how I see poetry.

I have some poet friends and I myself have at times tried to write poetry with not so happy results most of the time.

Reading poetry and observing poets, I see them as sculptors. A sculptor takes a block of marble, for example, and with skill, talent, effort, work and his other tools: hammer, chisel and sandpaper, he discards what is left over and reveals the figure that he perceived from the first moment struggling to emerge from the marble.

The poet does something similar: in everything there is poetry and the poet, using the word as a tool, discovers it for us, the neophytes, who need that word to be able to capture the poetry implicit in everything.

The song "Motives" in one of its lines states: "...writing a poem is easy if there is a reason..." Well, it's not so easy. A poet - a good poet, a true poet - works hard to write a poem. Then he leave it "At Rest" for an indeterminate period of time - without rereading it or thinking about it. At the same time he searches for it. Reread it and work on it again. Now he sees it differently, he has already passed that period of falling in love with his recently written poem and now he sees its flaws. Take away here, add there it "finishes" it but... it have another period of rest. It is not easy, then, to either give birth to the poem or consider it finished. I share my version of "Motives" ando Í hope you like it

Hola, comunidad, en esta semana 206 nuestro reciente artista destacado @cesaramos propone como temática la poesía.

Y ¿qué es la poesía? No busque una definición en Google porque allí mismo la pueden encontrar ustedes. Más bien hablaré de cómo veo la poesía. Tengo algunos amigos poetas y yo misma en algunos momentos he intentado escribir poesía con resultados no tan felices la mayoría se la veces.
Leyendo poesìa y observando a los poetas, a estos los veo como a los escultores. Un escultor toma un bloque de mármol, por ejemplo y con destreza, talento, esfuerzo trabajo y sus otras herramientas: martillo, cincel y lija desecha lo que sobraba y deja al descubierto la figura que percibió desde el primer momento pugnando por salir del mármol.

Algo similar hace el poeta: en todo hay poesía y el poeta usando como herramienta la palabra, la descubre para nosotros, los neófitos, que necesitamos esa palabra para poder captar la poesía implícita en todo.

La canción "Motivos" en una de sus líneas afirma: "...escribir un poema es fácil si existe un motivo..." Bien, no es tan fácil. Un poeta - un poeta bueno, un verdadero poeta - trabaja mucho para escribir un poema. Luego lo deja "En reposo" por un periodo de tiempo indeterminado - sin releerlo ni pensar en él.

Al tiempo lo busca. Lo relee y trabaja en él
nuevamente. Ahora lo ve diferente, ya pasó ese periodo de enamoramiento por su poema recién escrito y ahora si le ve los defectos. Quita acá, agrega allá lo "termina" pero... le toca otro periodo de reposo.

No es fácil, entonces, ni dar a luz al poema ni considerarlo terminado.

Una rosa pintada de azul, es un motivo,

Una simple estrellita de mar, es un motivo,

Escribir un poema es fácil, si existe un motivo,

Y hasta puedes crear mundos nuevos en la fantasía,

Unos ojos bañados de luz, son un motivo,

Unos labios queriendo besar, son un motivo

Y me quedo mirándote a tí y en encontrándote tantos motivos,

Yo concluyo que mi motivo mejor eres tú.
