    ENGLISH

Hi Hive Food friends, today I want to share with you one of my favorite recipes, I really love pasta in all its versions, and I love the taste of cheddar cheese, so for me macaroni and cheese or the popular mac and cheese are almost perfect 😉.

Aside from the fact that I love to eat and cook, I'm a pretty curious person, so I didn't want to stay with the doubt and I started researching about the origin of this popular dish.

Some agree that the origin is in Switzerland, specifically in the Alps, where macaroni is usually prepared with Gruyere cheese.

Others believe that the origin is a mystery, since there are varieties from other countries such as: Canada, United States, France and Italy.

This time I bring you a version as close as possible to the American one, which is usually prepared with cheddar cheese.

In addition, I would like to tell you a curious fact that I also found out while researching, and that is that the famous Kraft company launched the boxed version in 1937, an invention that is still marketed in many supermarkets around the world.

Well friends, from history, we will move on to practice, now let's really start with the preparation.

    Ingredients:

    500 gr of short pasta
    2 cups of milk
    1 tablespoon of butter
    136 gr of cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons cornstarch or corn starch

    Preparation:
The first thing we will do will be to cook the pasta following the package directions, if you wish you can add salt to taste, once ready, drain and reserve.

For the sauce, we will place the butter in a previously heated pan over low heat to melt, add the two tablespoons of cornstarch to the milk and mix, then add the mixture together with the melted butter in the pan and stir constantly taking care that it does not stick to the bottom, incorporate the cheddar cheese until it is melted and has formed a uniform sauce.

Finally, remove the sauce from the heat, add it to the previously cooked pasta and now it is time to enjoy.
