Venezuelan rock culture is still more alive than ever and the band 'Los Mesoneros' taught us that no matter how many years pass, rock and good music unite us forever.

After more than 10 years without performing in Puerto La Cruz, it was the first time for many of us who grew up listening to 'Los Mesoneros'.

A whole generation that was born from their first album, who were captivated by the music and lyrics which made it impossible for us not to identify with at least one song.

From the beginning they have always embodied in their songs the fear of growing up and the inevitability of that happening, and everything that happens on the way to adulthood. Loves, heartbreaks, laughter and tears. Music transcends borders and although the band is now based in Mexico, fans remain faithful to their music and its evolution.

Evolution in all senses, both musical and aesthetic, because I can see how the new album by 'Los Mesoneros', released the other year, has a more retro style, even in the outfits worn by the members of the band.

For that reason, it was no surprise to see her fans dressed in the same style. I was no exception, I decided to dress with flared pants and colored glasses, just like they do, but there were people who went further, and designed custom shirts for the band and even designed retro outfits especially to attend the concert.

Of the 16 years that the band has, at least 10 had not returned to Puerto la Cruz, which having them back represented the great return of rock to the city. Since Puerto la Cruz, in its early years, was the venue for his first musical steps.
So the euphoria was felt in the environment because it was the first time that many were going to see the band live, especially for the younger fans. Music unites, and at the concert there were people from all corners of the eastern part of the country.

People who were lining up since 4 in the afternoon, knowing that the doors were going to be open from 8 at night. The concert began around 10 pm and the sound check had to be done half an hour before with the public in front, because due to bad weather the artists hardly made it to the concert.

It rained all afternoon and they were traveling by plane, the flight was delayed around 6-7 hours, due to bad weather, the artists arrived an hour before going on stage and despite the setbacks and some technical details with the sound, the concert was a complete success.

They sang songs from all their albums, the most emblematic songs were sung by the audience from beginning to end, it's the first time I've been to a concert where the audience knew almost all the songs, they never stopped singing.

It was undoubtedly a memorable night, not only for the attendees, but also for national rock. May rock never die!

La cultura de rock venezolana sigue más viva que nunca y la banda 'Los Mesoneros' nos enseñó que no importa cuántos años pasen, el rock y la buena música nos unen por siempre.
Tras más de 10 años sin presentarse en Puerto La Cruz, fue la primera vez para muchos quienes crecimos escuchando a 'Los Mesoneros'.
Toda una generación que nació desde su primer álbum, quienes fuimos cautivados con la música y letras las cuales se nos hacía imposible no identificarnos con al menos una canción.
Desde el inicio siempre han plasmado en sus canciones el miedo a crecer y lo inevitable que es que eso suceda, y todo lo que pasa en el camino a la adultez.

Amores, desamores, risas y lágrimas. La música trasciende fronteras y aunque ahora la banda está radicada en México, los fanáticos seguimos siendo fieles a su música y a su evolución.

Evolución en todos los sentidos tanto musical como estético, porque se puedo observar como es que el nuevo álbum de 'Los Mesoneros' que se estrena el otro año, tiene un estilo más retro, hasta en los atuendos que usan los integrantes de la banda. Por esa razón, no fue sorpresa ver a sus fanáticos vestidos con el mismo estilo.

No fui la excepción, yo decidí vestirme con pantalones acampanados y lentes de colores, tal y como ellos lo hacen, pero hubo personas que fueron más allá, y diseñaron camisas personalizadas de la banda y hasta diseñaron outfit retro especialmente para asistir al concierto.

De los 16 años que tiene la banda, al menos 10 no habían regresado a puerto la cruz, lo que tenerlos de regreso representaba el gran regreso del rock a la ciudad. Ya que Puerto la Cruz, en sus años de inicio fue sede para sus primeros pasos musicales.

Así que la euforia se sentía en el ambiente porque era la primera vez que iba a ver a la banda en vivo para muchos, sobretodo para los fanáticos más jóvenes.

La música une, y en el concierto habían personas de todos los rincones de oriente del país. Personas que estaban haciendo fila desde las 4 de la tarde, sabiendo que las puertas iban hacer abiertas a partir de las 8 de la noche.

El concierto empezó al rededor de las 10 de las noches y se tuvo que hacer la prueba de sonido media hora antes con el público al frente, porque por mal tiempo los artistas casi no llegaban al concierto.

Llovió toda la tarde y ellos se trasladaban por avión, el vuelo se atrasó al rededor de 6-7 horas, por mal tiempo, los artistas llegaron una hora antes de salir a tarima y a pesar de los contratiempos y algunos detalles técnicos con el sonido, el concierto fue todo un éxito.

Cantaron canciones de todos sus álbumes, los temas más emblemáticos fueron cantados por el público de principio a fin, es la primera vez que voy a un concierto en donde el público se sabía casi todas las canciones, nunca dejaron de cantar.

Sin duda fue una noche memorable, no solo para los asistentes, sino para el rock nacional también.
