Hello to everyone in the Music community! For this weekend I bring you this beautiful song interpreted by me, which is titled 'Eternal Flame' by the American rock band, The Bangles. This song was a resounding success of the female group in 1989, as it was positioned as number one in several lists of countries like Australia and the United States. Here I tell you a little about the background of this song.

According to what I read in some interviews that were conducted in the year of release, the vocalist of the group, Susanna Hoffs, explained that the song refers to the "eternal flame" that rests on the grave of Elvis Presley. A place they visited during a Graceland trip where they observed firsthand how that "torch" seemed to be extinguished by the heavy rains of that day. However, this, far from discouraging them, served as inspiration to compose the song we are listening to today. In short, the lyrics lead us to think that it is about a young woman who expresses her fervent love, like a flame of burning and eternal fire that she wants the other (we suppose her lover) to know and to know that she is also loved in the same way. In a melodic, sweet and joyful way, we feel moved by this song.

The song belongs to the band's third and last album, Everything. Unfortunately, after six months, the group broke up. Leaving a repertoire of hits that are part of an excellent musical generation of the eighties and nineties. It makes me think about what other songs they could have released and we were deprived of having them. ¡Hola a todos en la comunidad de Music! Para este fin de semana les traigo está preciosa canción interpretado por mí, la cual se titula 'Eternal Flame' de la banda de rock estadounidense, The Bangles. Está canción fue un éxito rotunda del grupo femenino en el año 1989, ya que se posicionó cómo número una en varias listas de países como Australia y Estados Unidos. Aquí les cuento un poco sobre el trasfondo de esta canción.

Según lo leído en algunas entrevistas que se realizaron en el año de lanzamiento, la vocalista del grupo, Susanna Hoffs, explicó que la canción hace referencia a la "llama eterna" que se posa sobre la tumba de Elvis Presley. Lugar que visitaron durante un viaje Graceland dónde observaron directamente como esa "antorcha" parecía estar apagada por las fuertes lluvias de ese día. Sin embargo, esto lejos de desanimarlas, sirvió como inspiración para componer la canción que hoy estamos escuchando. En síntesis, la letra nos induce a pensar que se trata de una joven que expresa su ferviente amor, tal y como una llama de fuego ardiente y eterno que desea que el otro (suponemos su enamorado/a) conozca y saberse también, amada de la misma forma. De forma melódica, dulce y alegre, nos sentimos conmovidos por este tema.

La canción pertenece al tercer y último álbum de la banda, Everything. Ya que lamentablemente luego de seis meses, el grupo se separó. Dejando un repertorio de éxitos que forman parte de una excelente generación musical de los años ochenta y noventa. Me hace ilusión pensar en qué otros temas pudieron haber sacado y nos privamos de tenerlos. Finalmente amigos míos, les dejo el vídeo oficial para que las conozcan (de no conocerlas) y mi cover.
