Hello everybody! Today I bring you a new cover. This time it's a song by the Swedish pop group, ABBA, titled 'Knowing Me, Knowing You'. For those who know, this group is one of my all time favorites so, in previous opportunities I have taken some more songs and this one I had some time wanting to put it together. As fate would have it, I had not been able to record it, but now I present it to you as part of the ABBA series.
This specific song is part of some of the group's singles that touch on themes such as love breakups and the final outcome of such situations. I think that, although the artist Björn (member of the band and co-writer of the lyrics of Knowing Me, Knowing You') clarified at some point that the lyrics do not tell his personal story with Agnetha (also member of the band and ex-wife of Björn) and it was simply a story he took at random from a stranger who was going through a divorce, It does carry much of what happened with the two marriages in the band (Agnetha and Björn, Frida and Benny). In fact, part of the dissolution of the band was the divorce of both couples and how difficult it was to live together professionally given that state.
Taking into consideration the above, I think that although the lyrics are a bit fatalistic (empty rooms, memories, memories, good days and bad days) the melody seems to be very cheerful and partly tells in an optimistic way how it is possible to take the good of it: to know ourselves and to know (re-know) that loved one, from another point of view (ex-partner). What we want from the other and the idealization can definitely lead us to frustration when we realize that what we believed in and knew was not real. It is better to go from the beginning without embellishment and accepting the other for what he/she is and not for what we want.
Finally my friends, here I will leave the video for you to watch. ABBA for me is a sublime, unique and touching group. I tried to create a costume similar to those worn by the singers, despite the rudimentary. I didn't place the voices that go in the choir because it didn't look very good, so I left it like that, although there was a moment when I almost sang that part hahaha without more to say, thank you very much for stopping by, support my work and appreciate it. I send you a big hug and see you in the next one.

Lyrics/Letra
No more carefree laughter
Silence ever after
Walking through an empty house, tears in my eyes
Here is where the story ends, this is goodbye
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-ha)
There is nothing we can do
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-ha)
We just have to face it, this time
(This time, this time) we're through (we're through)
This time we're through, we're really through
Breaking up is never easy, I know, but I have (I have to go) to go
(This time I have to go, this time I know) knowing me, knowing you
It's the best I can do
Memories (memories)
Good days (good days)
Bad days (bad days)
They'll be (they'll be)
With me (with me)
Always (always)
In these old familiar rooms, children would play
Now there's only emptiness, nothing to say
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-ha)
There is nothing we can do
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-ha)
We just have to face it, this time
(This time, this time) we're through (we're through)
This time we're through, we're really through
Breaking up is never easy, I know, but I have (I have to go) to go
(This time I have to go, this time I know) knowing me, knowing you
It's the best I can do
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-ha)
There is nothing we can do
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-ha)
We just have to face it, this time
(This time, this time) we're through (we're through)
This time we're through, we're really through
Breaking up is never easy, I know, but I have (I have to go) to go
(This time I have to go, this time I know) knowing me, knowing you
It's the best I can do
