Hello to everyone in the Hive Open Mic community! Today I join the 143rd week of the week. With this new cover of the song 'Special' by the band Garbage. I've already covered some of their songs and this time I'm presenting you with one of my favorite songs of theirs. Special is especially fantastic because besides the fact that it was the first song I heard from them I find it quite beautiful for some of the reasons that I will leave below about the context of the song.

The song belongs to the album Version 2.0 which was released in 1998 and has a few more singles that were mostly popular in the US. The song tells the story of how a woman seems to have an emotional struggle as she tries to push away her ex-partner who insists on her staying. Accompanied by the band's iconic music video, where she (Shirley Manson) drives a fighter plane and fights with other aviators, it is simply a way of symbolizing how romantic relationships could easily turn into a battlefield, a war situation where everyone wants to come out of it undefeated. Simply beautiful. Plus the play on words in the name of the song: special and spacey.

Finally my friends I leave you with the video so you can enjoy it. This is the first video of the year and I hope to bring you much more content. I also wanted to say that I tried to find (to recreate) an outfit and makeup similar to the one she uses in the video. I really like her aesthetic. ¡Hola a todos en la comunidad de Hive Open Mic! El día de hoy me uno a la semana número 143 de la semana. Con este nuevo cover de la canción 'Special' de la banda Garbage. Ya he traído por acá algunas canciones de ellos y esta vez les presento la que es una de mis canciones favoritas de ellos. Special es especialmente fantástica porque además de que fue la primera canción que escuche de ellos me parece bastante hermosa por algunos de los motivos que les dejaré abajo sobre el contexto de la canción.

La canción pertenece al álbum Version 2.0 el cual fue lanzado en el año 1998 y tiene algunos sencillos más que fueron en su mayoría populares en los estados unidos. La canción nos relata el cómo una mujer parece tener una lucha emocional al tratar de querer apartar a su ex pareja el cual insiste en que se quede. Acompañado de un vídeo musical emblemático de la banda, dónde ella (Shirley Manson) conduce un avión de combate y lucha con otros aviadores, es simplemente una forma de simbolizar cómo las relaciones románticas podrían transformarse fácilmente en un campo de batalla, una situación bélica dónde cada uno desea salir invicto de allí. Simplemente precioso. Además del juego de palabras del nombre de la canción: especial y espacial.

Finalmente amigos míos los dejo con el vídeo para que puedan disfrutarlo. Está es el primer video del año y espero poder seguir trayendo por aquí muchísimo más contenido. También quería decir que intenté encontrar (para recrear) una vestimenta y maquillaje similar a la que ella utiliza en el vídeo. Me gusta mucho su estética.
