Hello friends, I bring you this little post where I show you one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in Portugal, it is Mertola, the city of the "Dragon" and it is called that way because of its representative symbol of a dragon, my wife and I decided to give ourselves A getaway to somewhere that was close to Lisbon, that was affordable and that was also beautiful! Would you say... A place like that exists? In reality, if it exists, in a day and a half of accommodation we spent less than 150 euros including food and transportation!⛵🏰🌏🙇‍♂️

Hola amigos, les traigo este pequeño post donde les muestro una de las ciudades mas bonitas y romanticas de Portugal se trata de Mertola, la ciudad del "Dragon" y es llamada asi por su simbolo representativo de un dragon, mi esposa y yo decidimos darnos una escapada a algun lugar que estuviese cerca de Lisboa, que fuera economico y que tambien fuese bonito! diras... Un lugar asi existe? en realidad si existe en un dia y medio de hospedaje gastamos menos de 150 euros incluyendo comida y transporte!👨💖👩

We wanted to go on a romantic outing but we didn't have much time to prepare something so among so many options we decided that Mertola was a good option because staying here only required about 60-70 euros per night you can pay 85 and it already includes dinner so I It seemed like a fairly viable option, Mertola is just over 120km from our house, it is a short trip that is not very tiring, ideal for spending a weekend with your partner or family! We are practically going to visit the Alentejo area, which is the south of Portugal, known for its extensive lands with plain characteristics!🚙🌏🧭

Quisimos hacer una salida romantica pero no teniamos mucho tiempo para preparar algo por tanto entre tantas opciones decidimos que Mertola era una buena opcion porque hospedarnos aqui solo requeria unos 60-70 euros por noche puedes pagar 85 y ya te incluye la cena por lo que me parecio una opcion bastante viable, Mertola esta a poco mas de 120km de nuestra casa, es un viaje corto no muy cansativo ideal para pasar un fin de semana con tu pareja o familia! practicamente vamos a visitar a la zona alentejana que es el sur de portugal conocida por sus extensas tierras con caracteristica de llanura!🏰💖👨👩❤

Our reservation was made two days in advance, as we were in Autumn at that time of year there are not many tourists in the city so reserving a hotel here should not be a problem, however in summer you have to be more cautious because you might not find reservations, our hotel was called "Tia Amelia" its quality-price ratio is quite good, its main attraction? The view from the rooms is magical, you have a 180-degree view of the entire city including the castle, which is for me the most popular tourist area of Mertola along with the Guadiana River and its boat rides.🚩🏰🧭

Nuestra reserva se hizo con dos días de anticipación, como estabamos en Otoño a esa altura del año no hay muchos turistas en la ciudad por lo que reservar aqui un hotel no debe ser problema, sin embargo en verano tienes que ser mas cauteloso porque podrias no encontrar reservas, nuestro hotel se llamo "Tia Amelia" su relacion calidad-precio es bastante buena, su principal atractivo? la vista de los cuartos es magica, tienes una vision de 180grados a toda la ciudad incluyendo el castillo que es para mi la zona turistica mas demandada de Mertola junto con el rio Guadiana y sus paseos en bote.🌏💖🙇‍♂️

As I have to rate the room I would give it 4/5, some things inside are very old like the TV which is not smart, the toilet had a problem with the water but everything else was fine, the atmosphere was nice, the view quite splendid and At sunset it steals your breath! The bed and the location are quite good, just walk 2km and you are in the center of the city, and on the contrary, since you are on the other side of the Guadiana, it has a lot of peace and tranquility outside of tourists who are mostly Spanish! For 5euros you have access to a pool so it is a wonderful plus in the summer! the attention of the five-star owner, a Portuguese, well-disposed and very cordial!🧭🏰🚩

Como me toca puntuar la habitacion le daria 4/5, algunas cosas dentro son muy antiguas como la tv que no es smart, el toilet tenia un problema con el agua pero de resto todo fue bien, el ambiente bonito, la vista bastante esplendida y en el ocaso te roba el aliento! la cama y la ubicacion es bastante buena basta con caminar 2km y ya estas en el centro de la ciudad, y por el contrario como estas del otro lado del Guadiana tiene mucha paz y tranquilidad fuera de turistas que en su mayoria son Españoles! por 5euros tienes acceso a piscina por lo que es un plus maravilloso en el verano! la atencion del dueño cinco estrellas un Portugues bien dispuesto y muy cordial!🚙⛵😍

Since we paid for the room with dinner included, we had the option of choosing four types of dishes. I was very hesitant but ended up ordering the house specialty, an octopus with a vinegar sauce with honey and asparagus. My wife ordered the cod also with salad. ! wow!!! Without words, the food was delicious, the service was also very good, the young waiter earned the tip from him! The view is also beautiful with the illuminated castle in the background.🍻🍻

Como pagamos la habitacion con la cena incluida, teniamos la opcion de escoger cuatro tipos de platos estuve muy indeciso pero acaber por pedir la especialidad de la casa un pulpo con una salsa de vinagre con miel y esparrago, mi esposa pidio el bacalao tambien con ensalada! wuao!!! sin palabras la comida estaba deliciosa, la atencion tambien muy buena el joven mesonero se gano su propina! la vista tambien es bonita con el castillo de fondo alumbrado.🥓🍔

La ciudad es mucho mas que esto que muestro en las fotos en realidad tengo preparado un super post para que la veas por completa, son muchos lugares que visite que senti que un unico post se veria cargado por tanto reserve lo mejor de ultimo mientras tienes aqui como luce la ciudad desde mi Mavic, que por cierto no requieres licencia para pilotear aqui puedes pedir un permiso a la ANAC que se te concede de inmediato! visite el castillo, tres museos, una cripta, y muchas cosas mas!🌷🍍🤴
