Hello friends from Splinterlands, how are you? I hope so.
We are here together again for another awesome Splinterlands weekly challenge. I'm going to talk a little bit about the creature in the weekly challenge, the battle I used it in, and my overview of the game.
So here we go.
This week's theme is "DEEP LURKER".
The card chosen this week for splinterlands' weekly battle challenge was this amazing chaos legion water element common creature.
DeepLurker has 3 points of melee attack, 2 points of speed and a good 6 points of life, which makes it a medium resistance, all for the cost of 6 mana points, making it a cost effective card considering its status and its cost to enter battle.
After the release of Chaos Legion it has been very common to see the Deeplurker in many of the battles, having become, in my opinion, one of the most used cards of the water element.
It has, by default, the opportunity ability, through which DeepLurker is able to attack from any position in the team and will aim at the opponent's monster with the lowest life, a very powerful ability that makes all the difference.
At level 6 and above DeepLurker receives the skill poison, which gives him the chance to poison opposing creatures and cause damage every round with his attacks, and at level 10 he receives the skill demoralize, which reduces melee damage to all opposing creatures.
This week's battle had only 13 mana cap points, making it the second smallest possible to be played, so it would be a short battle and certainly with few cards.
Since DeepLurker is a water creature, my decision could not have been any other than to obviously choose a water summoner to build my team, which I did by choosing Kelya Frendul, this amazing summoner with 4 mana cost and that grants +1 point of speed and 1 point of defense to all my creatures.
Since Deeplurker has the opportunity skill and would attack from any position in the team, and considering that it costs 6 mana and my summoner cost 4 mana points, which would already total 10 mana points, I decided to put 3 creatures of 1 mana point in the first 3 positions of the team, allowing them to suffer the attacks while DeepLurker did damage to enemy monsters, and the chosen ones were Albatross, Chaos Agent and Hardy Stonefish.
So the battle beggins.
My opponent surprised me and came to the battle with an earth team and with the summoner Mylor Crowling, which has been little seen in recent battles, but which months ago was very used.
And to complete his team he chose Unicorn Mustang and Khmer Princess.
By the choice of team it was already possible to calculate that it wouldn't be a very long battle, and it started with the Unicorn Mustang attacking my Albatross and, after that, DeepLurker defeated the Khmer Princess.
From then on, the battle became 4 on 1, with only Unicorn Mustang attacking my initial creatures, which had the shield granted by the summoner, and my DeepLurker attacking him and taking damage from Mylor's ability.
This dynamic continued until the fourth round when my DeepLurker was defeated and Unicorn Mustang had only 1 life point:
There was not much left for my opponent to do until Hardy Stonefish defeated him.
It was a beautiful victory.
It was a very interesting battle, my opponent's choice really surprised me, if I hadn't chosen to put the 3 creatures of 1 mana cost in the initial part of my team it is very likely that I would have been defeated since the Unicorn Mustang has a high damage power.
Deeplurker is a great card and has certainly become one of the most used cards in recent Chaos Legion battles. I, for one, have used this creature a lot in conjunction with DiemonShark which makes them a very powerful duo.
So that's it, folks.
I hope you enjoyed it and thanks for reading.
