    About :

Hello friends from the Splinterlands community, are you all right? I hope so!

Today we are together again for another Splinterlands weekly challenge, but today's post will be completely different from what I am used to do, because in this post I will bring my battle recorded on video, and not through prints as I usually do in the last ones.

    So let's go.

This week's theme is "SHADOW SNITCH".

This is a common death card from the Chaos Legion Pack.

It has, at its first level, 1 meele attack point, 1 speed point and 5 life points, and costs 4 mana points to be added in battle.

Its status is somewhat average for its battle cost, so it is a reasonable cost benefit.

However, it has the ability Reach, which allows it to attack from the second position of the team, which, because it is a creature with melee attack, would not be possible without this ability.

Starting at level 6 Shadow Snitch acquires the skill "Affliction" whereby a creature, when attacked by another creature with this skill, cannot have its life healed by other friendly creatures.

At level 10 Shadow Snitch gets the skill "Dodge" which gives him a great chance to dodge ranged or melee attacks and gives him 3 attack points, 4 speed points and 7 life points.

My current battle status is 297 rating and I'm in the "Bronze III" league, so those are the characteristics of the Battle Weekly Challenge, and the choice of battle rules was as follows:

    image.png

As you can see, it was a complete battle, with 30 mana cap, which is very high, and all the elements available without any rules.

My opponent, in his last 5 battles, used mixed teams, so it is a little complicated to imagine which team he would use.

Anyway, I believed that the team would be the earth team, so I decided to assemble a team more focused against this element.

My team went into battle with the following formation:

Thaddius Brood as my summoner, for reducing 1 point of magic damage and 1 point of life of opposing creatures, which would be very useful if the opponent actually came with the earth team.

Bone Golem, as my tanker, because, besides having considerable status, in this case 6 life points and 2 armor points, it still has the Void ability, reducing the opponent's magic damage by 1 point, which together with Thaddius' debuff would be very useful.

Shadow Snitch in the second position, to be able to participate in the weekly challenge and for his Recah skill that allows him to attack from such a position in the team.

Disintegrator, because as I was not sure if the opponent would use an earth element team with a lot of magic damage, the "demoralize" ability of this creature would be of great value in case it was necessary to reduce the physical damage of the opponent's creatures.

Life Sapper, for its magic damage, and above all, for its life leech ability and the ability to gain 1 life point for every 1 magic damage done.

Death Elemental, for its magic damage and Sniper ability, so it would attack other monsters instead of the tanker, and in the end,

Weirding Warrior for its Shalter ability which causes the destruction of the opponent's armor when attacking.

    So the battle beggins.

My decision was right and my opponent chose team earth to participate in the battle, having composed the same with the following formation:

    • Obsidian as summoner.
    • Mycelic Slipspawn as tanker
    • Goblin Psychic
    • Regal Peryton
    • Khmer Princess
    • Venari Spellsmith

Facing the Taunt ability of the opponent's Mycelic Slipspawn all my monsters focused their attack on it.

For the opponent all his monsters focused on attacking my Bone Golem, and only the Mycelic Slipspawn and the Goblin Psychic did damage to it.

But all the damage that was done to the Mycelic Slipspawn was healed by the Goblin Psychic, and this was the dynamic of the battle until the end of the third round, when my Bone Golem was defeated, pulling my Disintegrator into first place.

The battle was certainly off to a bad start for me.

Only in the fifth round I managed to defeat the Mycelic, still with the Disintegrator in first position, and it was there that the battle began to turn around, as my Life Sapper, by this time, already had 7 life points.

In the sixth round I defeated the Goblin Psychic, and in the seventh round it was the turn of the Khmer Princess to be defeated.

The battle had turned to my side.

In the eighth round, still with Life Sapper, Death Elemental, and Weirding warrior, I defeated Venari Spellsmith, leaving only Regal Peryton on the opposing team.

But in the ninth round he did not resist and the battle finally ended with a beautiful victory for me:

It was a great battle and I was really pleased with the result, my choices were almost all right and the creatures fulfilled their roles, which contributed to a positive result.

I am still getting familiar with all the creatures from Chaos Legion, but SHADOW SNITCH is one that I have used in some of my death battles, and it helped me in the weekly challenge.

It is a good card that helps the team a lot because of its Reach ability, as I mentioned above, which I will certainly continue to use.

I hope you enjoyed this new version of the post and thanks for reading.
