Un a aventura fuera de serie / A unique adventure

Esta aventura que escribo a continuación es una que estaba rezagada, pero siempre la tuve presente porque tuvo un propósito muy importante para nuestros compañeros: Dari y Tomas, quienes ante un diagnostico medico delicado y habiendo superado la situación de salud hicieron la promesa de visitar la capilla de la Virgen del Carmen cada año, esta capilla se encuentra ubicada en la carretera de Ocumare de la Costa a unos 19 kilómetros desde la alcabala del Limón en el estado Aragua.

This adventure that I write below is one that was delayed, but I always had it in mind because it had a very important purpose for our companions: Dari and Tomas, who after a delicate medical diagnosis and having overcome the health situation made a promise to visit the chapel of the Virgen del Carmen every year, this chapel is located on the road to Ocumare de la Costa about 19 kilometers from the Alkabala del Limon in Aragua state.

Como lo he contado en post anteriores, esta carretera de montaña saca lo mejor de los deportistas, aunque este tramo es menos complejo que el lado opuesto (vía Choroni), pero igualmente tiene su grado de dificultad y exigencia (ver el vídeo). Sumergirse en esta conexión tan magistral en contacto con la naturaleza nos hace privilegiados de ser parte de esta grandeza...este día, fué especial, la alegría palpitante en cada uno de nosotros y la adrenalina haciendo de la suya al descender al encuentro con la Fe y el agradecimiento hizo de este, un paseo fuera de serie.

As I have told in previous posts, this mountain road brings out the best in athletes, although this section is less complex than the opposite side (via Choroni), but still has its degree of difficulty and demand (see the video). Immersing ourselves in this masterful connection in contact with nature makes us privileged to be part of this greatness...this day was special, the joy pulsing in each one of us and the adrenaline doing its own when descending to the encounter with Faith and gratitude made this a ride out of series.

Al llegar a la capilla compartimos las meriendas, Dari prendió una vela y al rato bajamos a la cascada donde algunos de los compañeros (Claudia y Rich) sin pensarlo mucho metieron su humanidad debajo del agua cristalina y helada que los reinició para emprender el regreso, el sol estaba fuerte, así que ellos subieron con sus trajes mojados y frescos para completar los 38 kilómetros de este día.

Arriving at the chapel we shared snacks, Dari lit a candle and after a while we went down to the waterfall where some of the companions (Claudia and Rich) without thinking too much put their humanity under the crystal clear and icy water that restarted them to undertake the return, the sun was strong, so they climbed with their wet and cool suits to complete the 38 kilometers of this day.

El parque Henry Pittier aparte de hermoso es misterioso y enigmático, a veces la prisa no permite detallar elementos que forman parte de esta belleza como: el árbol cuyas raíces abrazan una inmensa roca y pared de la estación biológica (actualmente cerrada), el puente amarillo que se encuentra antes de Rancho grande, en particular tiene un significado especial, lo llamo las puertas del cielo tal vez porque indica que falta poco para alcanzar la cumbre de Portachuelo, las flores del camino, los araguatos, cascadas y la piedra de los presos, esta ultima guarda historia con un mensaje hecho a mano con martillo y cincel cuyos trazos son idénticos en la forma y tamaño de sus letras, realizado por hombres privados de libertad en el pasado (entre 1910 y 1916 aproximadamente). Esto es lo que hemos visto, seguiremos descubriendo y explorando este maravilloso parque.

The park Henry Pittier apart from beautiful is mysterious and enigmatic, sometimes the hurry does not allow to detail elements that are part of this beauty as: the tree whose roots embrace an immense rock and wall of the biological station (currently closed), the yellow bridge that is before Rancho grande, in particular has a special meaning, I call it the gates of heaven perhaps because it indicates that there is little left to reach the summit of Portachuelo, the flowers of the road, the araguatos, waterfalls and the stone of the prisoners, this last one keeps history with a handmade message with hammer and chisel whose strokes are identical in the form and size of their letters, made by men deprived of freedom in the past (between 1910 and 1916 approximately). This is what we have seen, we will continue discovering and exploring this wonderful park.

Este paseo lo terminamos con unas ricas empanadas junto a Yvonne quien iba en su vehículo y nos encontró cerca de la alcabala, un día para celebrar que la Fe es una fuerza que hace mover montañas, dichosos los que la cultivan.

We finished this tour with some delicious empanadas with Yvonne who was in her vehicle and met us near the alcabala, a day to celebrate that Faith is a force that moves mountains, blessed are those who cultivate it.
