De paseo por South Beach Miami / Strolling through South Beach Miami

A finales de Diciembre 2023 llegué a la ciudad de Miami- Florida EEUU por invitación de mi hija Yuliana quien me dió la sorpresa de enviarme los pasajes para visitarla al igual que a mi hijo Marco Tulio, tenia 2 años sin verlos y abrazarlos, se imaginarán mi alegría de despedir el año y recibir al nuevo compartiendo en familia. Así que, aprovecharé mi estadía en este pais para contar las actividades y paseos que realice en estos nuevos escenarios.

At the end of December 2023 I arrived in the city of Miami-Florida USA at the invitation of my daughter Yuliana who gave me the surprise of sending me the tickets to visit her and my son Marco Tulio, I had 2 years without seeing them and hugging them, you can imagine my joy to say goodbye to the year and receive the new year sharing with family. So, I will take advantage of my stay in this country to tell you about the activities and trips I made in these new scenarios.

Miami es una ciudad muy dinámica (mi percepción) y tiene una gama muy variada de atracciones turísticas, en esta oportunidad decidí acompañar a mi hija a su lugar de trabajo, en el camino nos percatamos que estaba llegando el crucero mas grande del mundo de la empresa Royal Caribbean: El ICON OF THE SEAS, con capacidad para 7.600 entre tripulantes y pasajeros (según la información de la promoción), se estrenó el 27 de enero del 2024 desde el puerto de Miami con destino al Caribe durante 7 días. Realmente es impresionante las dimensiones de este barco. (ver vídeo).

Miami is a very dynamic city (my perception) and has a wide range of tourist attractions, this time I decided to accompany my daughter to her place of work, on the way we noticed that the largest cruise ship in the world of the Royal Caribbean company was arriving: The ICON OF THE SEAS, with capacity for 7,600 between crew and passengers (according to the information of the promotion), was released on January 27, 2024 from the port of Miami to the Caribbean for 7 days. The dimensions of this ship are truly impressive (see video).

En esta primera visita caminé hasta South Beach la cual es una de las zonas mas concurridas por turistas, es conocida por sus playas, restaurantes de lujo con chefs famosos, discotecas, locales nocturnos que ofrecen show en vivo, cafés al aire libre, tiendas exclusivas ademas se pueden apreciar autos de últimos modelos de belleza impresionante. Este recorrido lo hice por la avenida Ocean Drive observando el panorama playero, aunque el motivo principal fué acercarme a la mansión del famoso diseñador de moda Italiana y de alta costura Gianni Versace quien fué asesinado en las escaleras entrando a su casa en el año 1997. Esta mansión es un icono de esta zona y actualmente es un hotel-boutique de lujo denominado The Villa Casa Casuarina.

In this first visit I walked to South Beach which is one of the busiest areas for tourists, is known for its beaches, luxury restaurants with famous chefs, nightclubs, nightclubs that offer live shows, outdoor cafes, exclusive stores also you can see cars of the latest models of stunning beauty. This tour I did along Ocean Drive Avenue observing the beach panorama, although the main reason was to approach the mansion of the famous Italian fashion designer and haute couture Gianni Versace who was murdered on the stairs entering his house in 1997. This mansion is an icon of this area and is currently a luxury boutique hotel called The Villa Casa Casuarina.

Luego me acerqué hasta la playa para ver el atardecer, hacía mucho frío, me sorprendió ver personas dentro del mar porque la brisa estaba helada. Me senté a contemplar el panorama y se me pasó el tiempo sin darme cuenta que estaba oscureciendo cuando decidí regresar. En el camino encontré una tienda Nike y entré porque me llamó la atención un carro muy colorido, después de ver los zapatos deportivos continué el paseo para terminarlo con una exquisita pizza.

Then I went to the beach to watch the sunset, it was very cold, I was surprised to see people in the sea because the breeze was freezing. I sat down to contemplate the view and the time passed without realizing that it was getting dark when I decided to go back. On the way I found a Nike store and I went in because a very colorful cart caught my attention, after seeing the sport shoes I continued the walk to finish it with an exquisite pizza.

El día sábado en la noche volví con dos amigas: Raiza y Lusday, recorrimos toda la avenida nuevamente (Ocean Drive) y continuamos hasta llegar a la Lincoln Rd, este recorrido es bastante atractivo a la vista por las luces multicolores y edificios con arquitecturas imponentes. Lo que más llamó mi atención de este paseo fué la enorme escultura cinética femenina de 45 pies de altura y 32.000 libras de peso diseñada por el escultor estadounidense Marco Cochrane la cual estará expuesta hasta abril 2024, su nombre es R-Evolution y está conformada para que brille de día y resplandezca con luces LED de colores en las noches. Una verdadera obra de arte.

Saturday night I returned with two friends: Raiza and Lusday, we walked the entire avenue again (Ocean Drive) and continued until we reached the Lincoln Rd, this tour is quite attractive to the eye by the multicolored lights and buildings with imposing architectures. What caught my attention of this ride was the huge female kinetic sculpture of 45 feet high and 32,000 pounds designed by American sculptor Marco Cochrane which will be on display until April 2024, its name is R-Evolution and is shaped to shine during the day and glow with colored LED lights at night. A true work of art.
