Greetings to all the @alienarthive community, today I'm here to participate in the third part of the Cosmic Creations : Inspired by Music contest.

On this occasion, the challenge is to make a design inspired by music, whatever the genre or song.

One of those genres that I love and like the most is epic music, which is used a lot in movies and video games. More specifically orchestral epic music.

One of the music artists I love the most is Thomas Bergersen and his music production company Two Steps from Hell. I find it inspirational, motivational, empowering and energizing music and I listen to it regularly, every day, especially when I design. Also when I go for my long walks.

That's why I chose one of my favourite songs by this author, although I like all of them. It is called Never Back Down and here is the link to one of the videos where this song appears and another original one from the producer.

This song inspired me a lot of things, it's about warriors who will never give up, but not only human warriors but also elves (which fascinate me), wizards and sorcerers.
And as I am also passionate about dragons, I made this design where there is a powerful sorceress with her two dragon protectors.

Design process

The design is made with three images, in 18 layers and a royalty free background music to go with it.

To make the design I chose two images that contain many, although I didn't use all of them, they helped me to make the landscape, and everything I needed.

The first one contains several backgrounds, a dragon and castles. I created a new file and placed a gradient of several colours. That layer I duplicated and inverted it and then in the animation I intercalated them.

I started to place those different backgrounds, copying and pasting and then overlapping them, in several layers and merging them. One of these backgrounds I used for the sky, the others constituted the landscape and the small hills that can be seen in the distance.

With the multi-coloured background, I achieved a lot of brightness and different tonalities.

After placing the castles in the background, making them a bit smaller, I placed one of the dragons to the side, which in the animation will appear from outside the screen.

After the second image, which also contains several, use one of the fire-breathing dragons and the fire sphere.

Place the second dragon on the opposite side of the first one. The fireball I put aside.

Then I placed the sorceress and on her sceptre I used the fireball in two layers, one brighter than the other, intercalating them in the animation.

I duplicated the sorceress and zoomed in on her face and the fireball behind her for illumination. These last two layers appear in the animation when I make the previous sorceress disappear.

The animation is done completely in After Effects, working on the opacity and position of the layers and adding cloud lights for better contrast.

Saludos a toda la comunidad de @alienarthive, hoy vengo a participar de la tercera parte del concurso Cosmic Creations : Inspired by Music.

En esta ocasión la consigna es realizar un diseño inspirado en la música, cualquiera sea el género o canción.

Uno de esos géneros que mas me apasiona y me gusta es la música épica, que se utiliza muchísimo en películas y video juegos. Más específicamente la música épica orquestal.

Uno de los artistas musicales que mas me encantan es Thomas Bergersen y su productora musical Two Steps from Hell. Me resulta una música inspiracional, motivadora, que me da fuerza y energía y la escucho habitualmente, todos los días, sobre todo cuando diseño. También cuando realizo mis caminatas largas.

Por ese motivo elegí una de mis canciones favoritas de este autor, aunque todas me gustan. Se titula Never Back Down y aquí les dejo el enlace de uno de los videos donde aparece dicha canción y otro original de la productora.

Esta canción me inspiro muchas cosas, trata sobre guerreros que nunca se darán por vencidos, pero no solo guerreros humanos sino elfos (los cuales me fascinan), magos y hechiceros.
Y como también me apasionan los dragones, realice este diseño donde hay una hechicera poderosa con sus dos protectores dragones.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño está realizado con tres imágenes, en 18 capas y una música de fondo libre de derechos de autor para acompañar.

Para realizar el diseño elegí dos imágenes que contiene muchas, aunque no utilice a todas, me sirvieron para confeccionar el paisaje, y todo lo que necesitaba.

La primera contiene varios fondos, un dragón y castillos. Cree un archivo nuevo y coloque un degradado de varios colores. Esa capa la dupliqué e invertí para luego en la animación intercalarlas.

Comencé a colocar esos distintos fondos, copiando y pegando y luego superponiéndolos, en varias capas y con fusiones. Una de esos fondos los utilice para el cielo, los demás constituyeron el paisaje y los catillos que se ven a lo lejos.

Con el fondo de múltiples colores, logre mucho brillo y distintas tonalidades.

Luego de colocar los castillos al fondo, achicándolos un poco, puse uno de los dragones, a un lado, el cual en la animación aparecerá desde fuera de la pantalla.

Luego de la segunda imagen que también contiene varias, utilice uno de los dragones que lanza fuego y la esfera de fuego.

Coloque el segundo dragón al lado opuesto del primero. La bola de fuego la reserve.

Posteriormente coloqué la hechicera y en su cetro usé la bola de fuego en dos capas, una mas brillosa que la otra, intercalándolas en la animación.

Dupliqué la hechicera y la acerqué enfocando su rostro y la bola de fuego detrás de ella para darle iluminación. Esta ultimas dos capas aparecen en la animación cuando hago desaparecer la anterior hechicera.

La animación esta realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad y la posición en las capas y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
