Este Sábado 18 de Febrero del año 2023, se disputó la jornada tres de la primera división del Fútbol Profesional Venezolano, en donde Deportivo Táchira Fútbol Club recibió la visita del Monagas Sport Club en el Polideportivo de Pueblo Nuevo, a partir de las 5:15 de la tarde.
El cuadro aurinegro, llegaba a este partido, tras perder 3-1 contra Club Deportivo Hermanos Colmenárez.
Mientras tanto, el elenco oriental, venció en la fecha dos a Mineros de Guayana por marcador de 3-1 en el Clásico Oriental.
Por otro lado, ya se veía que sería un compromiso de ida y vuelta. Además, de que el conjunto local tenia que buscar la victoria para tratar de escalar posiciones en la Liga.
