Mi amada familia 👪 My beloved family

Days ago, we had a great experience as a family in my son's preschool, it was really a very special and fun day, I never imagined it would be so exciting, an enriching experience, a great morning of those that you are satisfied, we relaxed, played, danced, laughed and even sang, but best of all was that as parents we managed to see a breakthrough in the development of our son and that makes us immensely happy and I want to share this joy with you.

This activity was held on the occasion of the celebration of the family hug month. As you know, the month of November is dedicated to the family, the most valuable treasure we can have in our lives, the core of society. In the video you can see the kind of activities that my son's teachers planned to honor families, I loved all these activities, especially because each of them, has a reason to be, to achieve the main objective which is to stimulate and strengthen the proper development of children. I hope you enjoy the video. Now I want to tell you, the experience in more detail and what we learned in each activity.

One day before the activity I prepared a colorful dessert to share, from that moment my son started to feel excited, he wanted Friday to come quickly, since he knew that this day mom and dad would stay with him in class. He woke up really happy and was the first to be ready.

The activity was also attended by his grandmother and his cousin Juan, since they would be the ones accompanying his cousin Camila, as I told you in previous posts, they both attend the same section. At first I thought it would be a very general activity, where all sections would participate, I was surprised to learn that it would only be in her section. We arrived at the kindergarten and found some steps placed on the floor, which indicated the way to the children's room, each step had a value or a feeling written on it, such as: respect, love, solidarity, among others. Children's music could be heard in the background.

Me encantó.

Dibujo de la familia realizado por las profesoras 😍 / Drawing of the family made by the teachers

In the living room we found a decorated table, with images of the family hug and many delicious pastries, also a poster with a beautiful drawing of the family. I loved it. When all the families arrived, the teachers started the activity with a question for us: What is family? I thought about answering that concept that we have engraved in our minds since school, which says that the family is the basis of society, but I kept quiet, as did all the representatives.

The teachers, surprised, told us that this was an example of how we adults complicate everything, perhaps none of them answered because they thought their answer would be very basic, as I thought, while the children, being so young, described the concept of family in a bolder way, showing that although we may not have taught them the concept as such, they identify as family the people with whom they feel safe, the people with whom they share daily, who take care of them and show them love, including pets. And so it is, that is what family represents, love, security, safety, protection, trust and well-being.

Papá y Mamá ❤️ / Mom and Dad

Then the kids surprised us by dancing to a very nice song, I had never heard it before, it seems it was popular in the 70's, called "There is nothing nicer than the united Family" a song by a group called Los Cantantes Católicos, according to this video, a song with very beautiful lyrics. It was great, watching my kid trying to follow the choreography, they were secretly rehearsing all week. It was my favorite moment of the day.

Afterwards, the teachers encouraged us to give ourselves a hug, because family love should start with self-love, love for ourselves, because sometimes we focus only on our children or our partner and little by little we are self-displaced and that at some point is reflected in others and ends up breaking our relationship as a family.

We also did some very dynamic and fun rounds with the children. Rounds that they do at school and that seek to stimulate their senses, make them lose stage fright, improve their confidence, develop their language and coordination. I thought it was excellent that they shared all this with us, because in the busy day that we parents usually have, sometimes we forget the importance of playing with them every day, even if it's just for a few minutes. Now that I am no longer in college and have a little more free time, I am trying to play more with my son and all the children at home and I got some good ideas from this activity.

Nuestro dibujo realizado en familia.😍 - Our drawing made as a family.

Then they told us about the benefits of singing with our children, songs appropriate to their age, as this helps them to enrich their language, thanks to singing, they can learn to speak correctly with ease, add new words to their vocabulary, develop their creativity and social skills. Each family sang a nursery rhyme, this caught us off guard, we decided to sing the wheels on the bus, since it is the child's first favorite song.

Another activity that I really liked, was to build a drawing of our dream house, using geometric shapes that they had already cut out, it was very nice to create this image together and then my child tried to explain what each thing represented. At this point, the teachers emphasized and encouraged us to do this kind of activities at home, whether painting, drawing, reading, making crafts, simple activities that allow us, among other things, to strengthen our ties with our children, while we work on their language and the cognitive and motor skills of our little ones.
