Dear friends of #wednesdaywalk , today I want to share with you a natural jewel that I discovered in my recent visit to the square of the municipality Antolin del Campo, in the state of Nueva Esparta, in the beautiful Margarita Island. It is this beautiful municipality where I reside, there is a square in front of the Mayor's Office, adorned by a church of great beauty that always opens its doors to everyone.

Queridos amigos de #wednesdaywalk , hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una joya natural que he descubierto en mi reciente visita a la plaza del municipio Antolín del Campo, en el estado Nueva Esparta, en la hermosa Isla Margarita. Es este hermoso municipio donde resido, se encuentra una plaza frente a la Alcaldía, adornada por una iglesia de gran belleza que siempre abre sus puertas a todos.

In front of the square is the municipality's mayor's office, which ensures that the whole environment is pleasant.

Frente a la plaza se encuentra la alcaldía del Municipio que se encarga que todo el entorno este agradable.

However, what really captured my attention was the imposing oak tree that stands majestically in front of this square. The locals call it "the millennial", and tell that it has been there since time immemorial. This ancestral tree has become a symbol of the community, a silent witness of history and the changes that have occurred around it.
The mayor's office, together with the Ministry of the Environment, also zealously watch over this oak tree to keep it healthy, pruning it and keeping a close eye on it.

Sin embargo, lo que realmente capturó mi atención fue el imponente roble que se alza majestuosamente frente a esta plaza. Los lugareños lo llaman "el milenario", y cuentan que ha estado allí desde tiempos inmemoriales. Este árbol ancestral se ha convertido en un símbolo de la comunidad, testigo silencioso de la historia y los cambios que han ocurrido a su alrededor.
La alcaldía en conjunto con el ministerio del ambiente velan también celosamente por este roble y que se mantenga saludable, lo podan y están muy pendientes.

As I approached this oak tree, I marveled at its magnificence. Its branches stretch out in all directions, offering shade and shelter to those seeking a moment of peace amidst the urban bustle. Its trunk, rough and scarred, tells stories of storms overcome and years of constant growth.
In front of it they built a monument of the hero Francisco Antolín del Campo, name that distinguishes this municipality.

Al acercarme a este roble, quedé maravillado por su magnificencia. Sus ramas se extienden en todas direcciones, ofreciendo sombra y refugio a quienes buscan un momento de paz en medio del bullicio urbano. Su tronco, rugoso y lleno de cicatrices, cuenta historias de tormentas superadas y años de crecimiento constante.
Frente a él construyeron un monumento del prócer Francisco Antolín del Campo, nombre que distingue este municipio.

On this Wednesday walk, I invite you to visit this square and contemplate the grandeur of this ancient oak tree. Allow yourselves to be transported to a time gone by, where nature and tranquility were the protagonists. Let us take this opportunity to reflect on our relationship with the environment and how we can preserve and protect these natural treasures for future generations.
