LLegando a Ciudad Bolívar, hace bastantes años ya, nunca me habría imaginado cuánto iba a cambiar mi vida. Obvio en este cuento seguimos más allá de Ciudad Bolívar y llegamos a un pueblito cercano a las fronteras con Brasil. Lo cierto es, que Ciudad Bolívar tiene su encanto, a pesar del calor que se siente, sus gente es alegre, trabajadora, bochinchera y sobre todo muy hospitalaria.

Ver el rio Orinoco, y si, comer zapoara a sus orillas es algo que hice alguna vez. Pero no terminé enamorada de una linda guayanesa, sino de un lindo Guayanés, mi primer novio fue de Ciudad Bolivar, un joven moreno, que ama el calipso y con un espíritu alegre sin igual, al día de hoy seguimos siendo grandes amigos.

La Zapoara es un canto de Francisco Carreño que narra el hecho mágico de que si un hombre se come la cabeza de este pez entonces se quedará enamorado de una mujer del lugar. Me encantan las creecias de los pueblos de mi país, como en cada lugar que he ido siempre tienen su forma tan particular de transmitir hechos mágicos, mitos y leyendas.

Espero les guste mi sencilla interpretación de esta canción con mi cuatro venezolano. Hoy felíz de compartirles un pedacito del folklore de mi Venezuela y del Estado Bolívar al cuál amo tanto.

Of course, in this story we continue beyond Ciudad Bolivar and arrive to a small town near the border with Brazil. The truth is that Ciudad Bolivar has its charm, despite the heat, its people are cheerful, hardworking, bochinchera and above all very hospitable.

Seeing the Orinoco River, and yes, eating zapoara on its banks is something I did once. But I did not end up in love with a pretty Guayanese, but with a pretty Guayanese, my first boyfriend was from Ciudad Bolivar, a young dark-haired man, who loves calypso and with a cheerful spirit like no other, to this day we are still great friends.

The Zapoara is a song by Francisco Carreño that narrates the magical fact that if a man eats the head of this fish then he will fall in love with a local woman. I love the beliefs of the people of my country, as in every place I have been they always have their particular way of transmitting magical facts, myths and legends.
