Welcome to my music blog, I hope you have an excellent start to the week. Today I want to share my interpretation with the trumpet of "Mamma Mia", a traditional pop song composed by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, and Stig Anderson. It is a piece of music that talks about a woman who is disappointed by a man who has cheated on her and left her. The song is in the key of D major and begins with a chord progression of I-vi-IV-V. It uses a simple but effective harmony to create a feeling of energy, tension, sadness and resolution. I have had the opportunity to hear it in series and movies. If someone wants to know a little about music history and wants to know the social impact of ABBA, I recommend the documentary series "This is Pop" on Netflix, specifically the chapter "The Stockholm Syndrome". Her legacy is still present in several generations. My parents loved it and therefore it greatly influenced the music we listened to as children.

Hoy quiero compartirles mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Mamma Mia», una canción de género pop tradicional compuesto por Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, y Stig Anderson. Es una pieza musical que habla sobre una mujer que se siente decepcionada por un hombre que la ha engañado y la ha dejado. La canción está en la tonalidad de re mayor y comienza con una progresión de acordes de I-vi-IV-V. Utiliza una armonía simple pero efectiva para crear una sensación de energía, tensión, tristeza y resolución. He tenido la oportunidad de escucharla en series y películas. Si alguien quiere conocer un poco sobre historia de la Música y quiere conocer el impacto social de ABBA, le recomiendo la serie documental “Esto es Pop” en Netflix, específicamente el capítulo “El Síndrome de Estocolmo”. Su legado sigue presente en varias generaciones. Mis padres les encantaba y por ende eso influyo mucho en la música que escuchábamos de niños.

The song is a celebration of feminine strength and women's ability to overcome obstacles. That reminds me of my grandmother Ana, this week she is having an eye operation. She is 98 years old, and her optimism is impressive. Despite the limitations that she has, a product of advanced age, she has the desire to live and be useful. She is always on the lookout for a business, raising her animals and collecting crops. It can be said that she commands more than a dynamo or electrical generator. She is a symbol of love that unites the family, and an example of work. I remember when I was a child I saw her carry firewood, herd the cows, harvest the coffee crops and get up very early to make corn arepas for those who worked in a company close to home. We have great admiration for her, and for her strength and courage in raising many children and even some who weren't. A great woman.

La canción es una celebración de la fuerza femenina y la capacidad de las mujeres para superar los obstáculos. Eso me recuerda a mi abuela Ana, esta semana la están operando de la vista. Ella tiene 98 años, y es impresionante el optimismo que tiene ella. A pesar de las limitaciones que tiene, producto de una edad avanzada, ella tiene el deseo de vivir y de ser útil. Ella siempre está pendiente de un negocio, de criar a sus animales y de recoger la siembra. Se puede decir que manda más que un dinamo o generador eléctrico. Ella es un símbolo de amor que une a la familia, y un ejemplo de trabajo. Recuerdo que estando yo niño la veía cargar leña, arrear las vacas, recoger la siembra de café y levantarse muy temprano para hacer las arepas de maíz para los que trabajaban en una empresa cercana a casa. Sentimos una gran admiración por ella, y por su fortaleza y coraje para criar a muchos hijos e incluso a algunos que no lo eran. Una gran mujer.
