Welcome to my music blog, today I share with you my trumpet interpretation of "Lady", a song that mixes genres such as Country, R&B and Soul, composed by Lionel Richie and Jim Weatherly and recorded by Kenny Rogers. The lyrics describe the story of a man who falls in love with a woman who is more than she seems. He also metaphorically compares the woman to a lady, a queen and a star. The song is in the key of E major and has a moderate tempo. The chord progression is I-vi-IV-V, a very common plague cadence in religious and classical music. This piece of music was a great challenge to perform. The weekend was very active, I had several training meetings on administrative and financial aspects, planning activities and meetings. I have to rest from the instrument, and that has a high cost. Monday is a day to get back to things, prepare and perform instrument calisthenics. It is similar to what a high-performance athlete experiences when he takes a break. Then, comes the transition day where you prepare to continue with the healthy routine.

Bienvenidos a mi blog musical, hoy les comparto mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Lady», una canción que mezcla géneros como el Country, R&B y el Soul, compuesta por Lionel Richie y Jim Weatherly y grabada por Kenny Rogers. La letra describe la historia de un hombre que se enamora de una mujer que es más de lo que parece. También compara metafóricamente a la mujer con una dama, una reina y una estrella. La canción está en la tonalidad de mi mayor y tiene un tempo moderado. La progresión de acordes es I-vi-IV-V, una cadencia plagal muy común en la música religiosa y clásica. Esta pieza musical fue un gran reto interpretarla. El fin de semana fue muy activo, me tocaron varias reuniones de capacitación en aspectos administrativos y finanzas, planificación de actividades y reuniones. Me toco descansar del instrumento, y eso tiene un costo alto. El lunes es un día para retomar cosas, prepararte y realizar calistenia del instrumento. Es similar a lo que vive un atleta de alto rendimiento cuando se toma un descanso. Entonces, viene el día de transición donde te preparas para continuar con la sana rutina.

A new beginning is an opportunity to leave the past behind and start anew. It is an opportunity to learn from past mistakes and build a better future. Every day we are presented with the option of having a new beginning. In December 2022, I planned to complete some goals for 2023, and in January I put my hopes and dreams into action by starting to work on them. Looking back on what I have achieved, it seems incredible to me that we are already in the month of September and that I have completed two semesters at the University. Today I start a semester again and I feel happy about the subjects I have enrolled. A new beginning can be exciting, but it can also be terrifying. It is important to be prepared for the challenges that may arise, but it is also important to be optimistic and believe in the future.

Un nuevo comienzo es una oportunidad para dejar atrás el pasado y comenzar de nuevo. Es una oportunidad para aprender de los errores del pasado y construir un futuro mejor. Cada día se nos presenta la opción de tener un nuevo comienzo. En diciembre de 2022, planifiqué completar algunas metas para el 2023, y en enero puse mis anhelos y esperanzas en acción al empezar a trabajar en ellas. Al visualizar en retrospectiva lo que he logrado, me parece increíble que ya estemos en el mes de septiembre y que he completado dos semestres en la Universidad. Hoy comienzo nuevamente un semestre y me siento feliz por las materias que he inscrito. Un nuevo comienzo puede ser emocionante, pero también puede ser aterrador. Es importante estar preparado para los desafíos que pueden surgir, pero también es importante ser optimista y creer en el futuro.
