A warm greeting to this beautiful global community. I am happy to participate in the Hive Open Mic Week #230 where we explore the theme: "Crazy Week". I am pleased to share my trumpet interpretation of "If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind", a song composed by John Cameron and performed by Agnetha Fältskog of the Swedish pop group ABBA on her album "My Colouring Book" in 2004. This beautiful ballad is touching and speaks of loss, longing, and regret. The melody is melancholic, repetitive and emphatic. The tempo is moderate with a steady beat consisting of a subtle pulse that propels the song forward. Agnetha Fältskog's voice is unmistakable. We had several ABBA cassettes and records at home, so playing this piece causes some nostalgia and brings back fond memories. Changing your mind is probably an act of madness these days.

Madness has been associated with musical geniuses. Often because of their eccentricities, their courage to follow their dreams and thoughts, or break the mold. Music makes us feel different emotions, which can be confused with madness. As musicians, we venture into uncharted territories, searching for new sounds and harmonies. It may seem a bit irrational, but it is part of artistic progress. Without madness, there is no happiness. Madness allows you to get out of the ordinary, and live experiences that you would not otherwise live. A few years ago I was traveling with the family to a beach, and we came across a high pier. When I saw native people from the area jumping from the highest point into the sea, I made the crazy decision to do the same. In the end, the whole family ended up jumping and we had a great time. It took a step of irrationality, and courage to leap into the void, well, in this case, into the water.

I would bring you flowers in the morning
Wild roses as the sun begins to shine
Sweet perfume in tiny jeweled caskets
If I thought you'd ever change your mind
I would take you where the music's sweetest
And feed you winter fruits and summer wine
Show you things you've only read in story books
If I thought you'd ever change your mind
I would bring you happiness
Wrapped up in a box and tied with a yellow bow
I would bring you summer rain and rainbow skies to make your garden grow
And in the winter snow my songs would keep you from the cold
But what use of flowers in the morning
When the garden they should grow in is not mine
And what use is sunshine if I'm crying
And my falling tears are mingled with the wine
I would bring you happiness
Wrapped up in a box and tied with a yellow bow
I would bring you rainbow skies
And summer rain to make your garden grow
And in the winter snow, my songs would keep you from the cold
I would bring you flowers in the morning
Wild roses when the sun begins to shine
Winter fruits and summer wine
Sweet perfume and columbine
If I thought you'd ever change your mind
If I thought you'd ever change your mind
