    About :

I join the celebration of the Hive Open Mic in Week #200, where we explore the theme "Virtual Serenade" proposed by our community's namesake and recent featured artist: @jesuslnrs. Today I share with you my trumpet interpretation of "What a Wonderful World", an incredible jazz classic composed by Bob Thiele and George David Weiss. I dedicate this piece to my friend @gladymar1973, a wonderful woman, full of faith, love and talented with her hands. I not only know her, but also her beautiful family. God bless you, my friend. The song's lyrics paint a picture of a beautiful and peaceful world, highlighting simple joys such as nature, friendship and love. My favorite version is the one sung by Louis Armstrong, one of the most charismatic trumpeters in the history of jazz. The song is in the key of C major, with a harmonic progression based on major I, vi, IV and V chords, which contributes to the feeling of relaxation and familiarity.

We must not lose the ability to surprise ourselves. Many times it happens to us that we are victims of routine and we do not enjoy the simplest things. If there is one thing I have learned from life, it is that we should not focus on just one side of the path. We can enjoy the grass or complain about the rockiness of life. You have to practice contemplation and appreciation. How many times a day do we make an effort to look at the world with new eyes, valuing the small, everyday things? The song reminds us that there is beauty everywhere, from the colors of the sky to the smile of a child. Something that children stand out for is their creativity and curiosity to discover new things. We must cultivate that capacity in ourselves. Lastly, something that helps me recognize and be surprised by life is being grateful. I am grateful for this community that has provided a home to many people.

    What a Wonderful World

    [Verse 1]
I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
    And I think to myself
    What a wonderful world

    [Verse 2]
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed days, the dark sacred nights
    And I think to myself
    What a wonderful world

    [Bridge]
    The colors of the rainbow
    So pretty in the sky
    Are also on the faces
    Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands, saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying, "I love you"

    [Verse 3]
I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
    They'll learn much more
    Than I'll ever know
    And I think to myself
    What a wonderful world
    Yes, I think to myself
    What a wonderful world
