Friendship is a divine treasure. I think we are selective because of the experiences we have had throughout our lives. When we were children it was not difficult for us to make friends. We did not have prejudices or envy, and if someone had a bad gesture we quickly forgot. As time goes by, we come across people who are unreliable, and they fail us. So we become more suspicious. Today I'm sharing my trumpet performance of "Stand by Me," a classic soul ballad composed by Ben E. King, Jerry Leiber, and Mike Stoller. The song is about friendship and the importance of having someone to support you through thick and thin. This piece of music is in the key of E minor. The verses are simple and repetitive, while the chorus is more melodic and emotional. The song's harmonic progression is based on the I-vi-IV-V progression, which is a common progression in soul music.
To make good friends one must begin by being a good friend. It is a law of life, one sows something good, and reaps something good. When one focuses on strengthening the roots, neither the wind, nor the harshness of the sun or the water, nor the difficulties will be able to with that friendship. It is important to be genuine, we should not try to be someone we are not. The good is close to the good. You have to cultivate kindness and compassion. Compassion is not only feeling empathy, it is also acting for the benefit of other people. You have to be interested in the lives of others. We live in an artificial and egocentric world, where the person we see in the mirror matters more to us. It is important to learn to listen. Every time I get on a bus I exercise this ability. I try to converse with people and connect through common beliefs, issues, and talents. At Hive we create connections by reading or watching videos. When we talk about what people write, it's akin to learning, listening, being empathetic and compassionate.
When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No, I won't be afraid
Oh, I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
So darlin', darlin', stand by me
Oh, stand by me
Oh, stand
Stand by me, stand by me
If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountains should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry
No, I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
And darlin', darlin', stand by me
Oh, stand by me
Whoa, stand now
Stand by me, stand by me
Darlin', darlin', stand by me
Oh, stand by me
Oh, stand now
Stand by me, stand by me
Whenever you're in trouble, won't you stand by me?
Oh, stand by me
Whoa, just stand now
Oh, stand, stand by me
