Self-produced magazine "I love the city!!" (found when cleaning (2)) / 自作の雑誌「街が好きっ!!」(掃除していたら出てきたもの(

I was cleaning up and found something I missed again. Today, it's the magazine I was working on from 1997 to 1998, "I love the city!" I was making this magazine from 1997 to 1998.

This magazine was created for an art event held in Osaka City, and I wrote and illustrated my observations of the city, copied them, cut the articles with a cutter, tore off flyers, collaged each page on drawing paper, and stapled them together, almost by hand.

The magazine was published from Vol. 0 (preparatory issue for the first issue) to Vol. 2. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 were made in larger numbers, 11 copies each (one for myself), and delivered to Keibunsha Ichijyoji in Kyoto and Gakusha in Tokyo, where they were all sold out. So I have only one copy each of Vols. 0 through 2.

I wondered if I had that much time on my hands to produce such a magazine back then. I thought to myself.

The 90's was a time when subcultures were popular, and I think mini-comics were also actively published in the subculture category. A book that introduced mini-comics published at the time was "Minicomi Soul" (published by Shobunsha), which also introduced "Machi ga Suki! was also introduced in the book.

I really wanted to publish Vol. 3, but my father became ill and I had to take care of him, so I decided not to.

I thought it would be fun to make a video of the turning of the books, but I don't have any equipment to take video, not even a tripod, so my hands were shaking so badly that I could only turn one of the books. Well, the other two books are similar.

I was deeply moved when I thought that it was already 25 years ago when I created this book.
I will keep it as a treasured possession.

掃除をしていたら、またまた懐かしいものが出てきました。今日は1997年から1998年にかけて作っていた雑誌「街が好きっ!!」です。

この雑誌は大阪市で行われたアートイベントに出品するのをきっかけに作った雑誌で、街を観察して思ったあれこれを文章とイラストで書いてコピーし、記事はカッターで切ってチラシをちぎって各ページ画用紙にコラージュし、ホッチキスで綴じるという、ほぼ手作業で作った雑誌です。

Vol.0(創刊準備号)からVol.2まで発行しました。これだけ手作業で、手間をかけているのにたったの200円なので、Vol.0は5部ぐらい作りましたが完売しました。Vol.1、Vol.2は部数を増やして各11部(うち各1部は自分用)作って、京都の恵文社一乗寺店と東京の模索舎に納品したらすべて完売しました。なので、いま手もとにあるのはVol.0からVol.2の各1部だけです。

こんな雑誌を作るなんて、当時そんなに暇人だったっけ？と思いました。

ちょうど90年代はサブカルチャーが流行ったころで、ミニコミもサブカルチャーの範疇で盛んに発行されていたと思います。当時発行されたミニコミを紹介した本が「ミニコミ魂」(晶文社)で「街が好きっ!!」も紹介されました。

本当はVol.3も出したかったのですが、父が病気になり介護をしなければならなくなったのでやめました。

これは本をめくるところを動画に撮れば面白いかなと思いましたが、私は動画を撮る機材なんか何も、三脚すら持っていないので手がぶるぶる震えて1冊しかめくれませんでした。まああと2冊も似たようなものです。

これを創ったの、もう25年前かと思うと感慨深いものがあります。
大事に残しておこうと思います。
