Como se aprecia en la miniatura de este post, vamos a estar hablando de la Sony ZV-E10 la cual es una cámara bastante moderna con prestaciones increíbles. En el vídeo @sawko y yo comentamos la experiencia que hemos tenido con este dispositivo.

Today I bring you a new review/analysis/unboxing of the most recent product I have acquired, this time accompanied by my brother @sawko. As you can see in the thumbnail of this post, we are going to be talking about the Sony ZV-E10 which is a pretty modern camera with amazing features. In the video @sawko and I discuss the experience we have had with this device.

¿Por qué comprar una cámara en 2022 si los teléfonos ya nos ofrecen una buena calidad de imagen y vídeo?

Crear contenido se ha convertido en una de las actividades más competitivas de los últimos años y es que ya no basta con hacerlo “bien”. El publico actual es extremadamente exigente por lo que nuestros contenidos deben apuntar cada vez más a unas métricas más altas si la intensión es mantener a nuestra audiencia (o audiencia potencial) enganchada. Una de los aspectos claves del éxito en la producción por Internet es un adecuado control de la imagen/vídeo que constantemente colgamos.

Por tanto, habiendo tanta competencia en la red, la alta calidad más allá de ser un “plus” se ha convertido en un requisito imprescindible. Claro, cuando se está empezando debemos poner el mayor empeño y trabajar con lo que se tiene pero llegado el punto es necesario hacerse con el equipo adecuado.

En anteriores posts les he comentado como ha sido la evolución de nuestro proyecto y como poco a poco hemos actualizado las herramientas de trabajo. Después de haberlo pensado mucho, planificar y estimar los costos/beneficios de esta inversión, finalmente nos decidimos y compramos esta increíble cámara. Al principio teníamos varias opciones bastante interesantes como por ejemplo: la Panasonic G95 la cual estuvimos a punto de comprar pero en esa espera subió demasiado de precio y nos tocó evaluar alternativas.

Why buy a camera in 2022 if phones already give us good image and video quality?

Creating content has become one of the most competitive activities in recent years and it is no longer enough to do it "well". Today's audiences are extremely demanding so our content must increasingly aim for higher metrics if the intention is to keep our audience (or potential audience) engaged. One of the key aspects of success in Internet production is a proper control of the image/video we constantly upload. Therefore, with so much competition on the net, high quality is more than just a "plus", it has become an essential requirement. Of course, when you are just starting out, you should make the best effort and work with what you have, but at the end of the day you need to get the right equipment. In previous posts I have told you about the evolution of our project and how we have gradually updated our work tools. After much thought, planning and estimating the costs/benefits of this investment, we finally decided to buy this amazing camera. At the beginning we had several interesting options such as: the Panasonic G95 which we were about to buy but in that wait it went up too much in price and we had to evaluate alternatives.

Desde luego, las cámaras han tenido un auge abrumador por lo que sus precios han estado a la alza durante mucho tiempo. La Canon M50 fue otra que tomamos en cuenta pero “a última hora”, vimos que uno de los modelos más recientes de Sony bajó de precio en amazon y aprovechamos sin dudarlo. Sony ofrece cámaras cuya calidad de vídeo es de las mejores sobre todo en el enfoque que hace el cual es rapidísimo. Normalmente los terminales de Sony están en sobreprecio como por ejemplo la a6400 cuyo valor excede los 1000$ siendo su precio base de 600$.

La Sony ZV-E10 es una versión actualizada de la a6400, salio el año pasado y ronda unos precios bastante razonables, en concreto, esta cámara la adquirimos por unos 800$ sin incluir envío. A eso hay que sumarle la tarjeta de memoria (de 128 GB) la cual costó 30$. Es muy importante asegurarse que las memorias tengan la suficiente capacidad de lectura y escritura de datos para que podamos grabar sin tener ningún tipo de problemas, sobre todo cuando se trata de altas resoluciones como el 4k por ejemplo.

Of course, cameras have had an overwhelming boom so their prices have been on the rise for a long time. The Canon M50 was another one we took into consideration but "at the last minute", we saw that one of the most recent Sony models was reduced in price on amazon and we took advantage of it without hesitation. Sony offers cameras whose video quality is one of the best, especially in the focus which is very fast. Normally Sony terminals are overpriced as for example the a6400 whose value exceeds $ 1000 being its base price of $ 600.

The Sony ZV-E10 is an updated version of the a6400, it came out last year and is quite reasonably priced, in particular, we bought this camera for about $800 excluding shipping. To that you have to add the memory card (128 GB) which cost $30. It is very important to make sure that the memories have enough capacity to read and write data so that we can record without any problems, especially when it comes to high resolutions such as 4k for example.

Conseguir una cámara “semi-profesional” por menos de 1000$ es algo muy difícil pero si tienes paciencia y estas revisando el mercado constantemente puedes encontrar muy buenas ofertas.

Desempaquetando

La cámara viene en una caja bastante resistente en la cual vamos a poder observar el modelo en cuestión. Es muy importante no estropear esta caja al momento de abrirla pues en caso de necesitarlo nos puede ser útil si debemos acudir a la garantía del producto.

Getting a "semi-pro" camera for less than $1000 is very difficult but if you have patience and are constantly checking the market you can find very good deals.

Unboxing

The camera comes in a sturdy box in which we will be able to see the model in question. It is very important not to damage this box when opening it because in case we need it it can be useful if we have to go to the product warranty.

Una vez abrimos el empaque vamos a encontrar los típicos manuales de uso, cupones promocionales, una correa, la batería, el cargador, un cable USB-C, un eliminador de ruido (el cual funciona de maravilla) y desde luego la ZV-E10 con el lente Kit 16-50mm.

Once we open the package we will find the typical user manuals, promotional coupons, a strap, the battery, the charger, a USB-C cable, a noise eliminator (which works great) and of course the ZV-E10 with the Kit 16-50mm lens.

Sobre la Sony ZV-E10

Hablando específicamente de esta potente maquina, vemos que está pensada para Vlogging, pero también la hemos estado probando en el apartado fotográfico y la verdad es que se desempeña perfectamente. Es de la familia de cámaras “Mirrorless”, de este tema balamos en el vídeo pero para resumir las cámaras mirrorless (sin espejo) no necesitan de los espejos que las cámaras Refflex usan para captar la luz lo cual se traduce en una lectura de la imagen más exacta, esto permite ademas que el producto sea más ligero, pero a su vez, hay que tener sumo cuidado a la hora de cambiar el lente pues el sensor está más expuesto y es más vulnerable a partículas contaminantes.

El sensor de la ZV-E10 es de 24.2 Mega pixeles, graba en 4K hasta 30 cuadros por segundo y a 1080p hasta 120 cuadros lo cual es ideal para hacer grabaciones en slow motion.

Su pantalla abatible es de las cosas que más me ha gustado. Tiene una articulación total lo cual te facilita mucho visualizar en tiempo real lo que grabas.

About the Sony ZV-E10

Speaking specifically of this powerful machine, we see that it is designed for Vlogging, but we have also been testing it in the photographic section and the truth is that it performs perfectly. It belongs to the "Mirrorless" family of cameras, we talked about this in the video but to summarize the mirrorless cameras do not need the mirrors that the Refflex cameras use to capture the light which translates into a more accurate reading of the image, this also allows the product to be lighter, but in turn, we must be very careful when changing the lens because the sensor is more exposed and is more vulnerable to contaminating particles.

The ZV-E10's 24.2 megapixel sensor records in 4K at up to 30 frames per second and at 1080p at up to 120 frames, which is ideal for slow motion recording.

Its tilting screen is one of the things I liked the most. It has a full articulation which makes it much easier to visualize in real time what you record.

Algo que es sumamente importante es que la cámara maneja el formato RAW ideal para quien trabaja con fotografía pues este formato te permite obtener "en bruto" toda la información de la imagen para luego con un programa de edición recuperar y modificar los colores sin perder calidad.

Por supuesto, al ser una cámara moderna cuenta con la gran mayoría de características de conectividad como wifi, bluetooth , conexión tipo C etc.

No tiene flash. La mayoría de cámaras que han salido recientemente te dan la opción de colocar un flash remoto siendo esta una mejor opción en comparación del convencional flash "por efecto" que venia en los modelos más antiguos el cual dificulta mucho hacer que las imágenes no salgan quemadas. Este modelo sigue esta linea y tiene la posibilidad de que le conectes un flash externo y lo puedas posicionar donde desees.

En cuanto a su autonomía, es difícil precisar pero según el manual la ZV-E10 puede hacer 440 disparos o 125 minutos de vídeo ininterrumpido. Para darles una idea, hemos tenido la cámara encendida haciendo distintas tomas (fotos y vídeos) durante unas 3-4 horas y no nos ha defraudado.

Of course, being a modern camera, it has most of the connectivity features such as wifi, bluetooth, type C connection, etc.

It does not have flash. Most cameras that have come out recently give you the option of placing a remote flash being this a better option compared to the conventional flash "by effect" that came in older models which makes it very difficult to make the images do not come out burned. This model follows this line and has the possibility of connecting an external flash and you can position it wherever you want.

As for its autonomy, it is difficult to specify but according to the manual the ZV-E10 can take 440 shots or 125 minutes of uninterrupted video. To give you an idea, we've had the camera on for about 3-4 hours taking different shots (photos and videos) and it hasn't let us down.

Otra de las potentes ventajas de esta cámara es que la podemos conectar a nuestra computadora por USB y nos funcionará como una webcam, algo increíble para hacer streaming ya que contaríamos con toda la potencia de Sony. Si así lo quisiéramos, podemos conectarla a la corriente y en teoría transmitiríamos el tiempo que quisiéramos.

La experiencia que hemos tenido con este nuevo dispositivo ha sido bastante satisfactoria pues notamos un aumento descomunal en la calidad de las imágenes y vídeos. Claro, como toda herramienta hay que aprender a usarla correctamente para poder sacarle el mayor provecho posible. Las primeras impresiones al momento de sacar la cámara del empaque puede que te dejen un poco desconcertado pero una vez te acostumbras a manejarla verás que el menú personalizable de Sony es bastante fácil de usar.

Another powerful advantage of this camera is that we can connect it to our computer via USB and it will work as a webcam, something incredible for streaming since we would have all the power of Sony. If we wanted to, we can connect it to the current and in theory we would transmit as long as we want.

The experience we have had with this new device has been quite satisfactory because we noticed a huge increase in the quality of images and videos. Of course, like any tool, you have to learn how to use it correctly to get the most out of it. The first impressions when you take the camera out of the package may leave you a little puzzled but once you get used to handling it you will see that the customizable Sony menu is quite easy to use.

¡Altamente recomendada!

Si estás pensando en comprar tu primera cámara esta es una opción que cumplirá tus expectativas y mucho más. También si quieres hacer una actualización y te quieres pasar de una cámara Refflex a una mirrorless sin duda la ZV-E10 está entre las candidatas más importantes. Por supuesto, si ya eres un profesional de la fotografía este modelo también tiene mucho que ofrecer, de hecho, he visto en internet que con esta cámara han hecho cortometrajes bastante interesantes, tus habilidades y creatividad son el limite.

If you are thinking of buying your first camera this is an option that will meet your expectations and much more. Also if you want to upgrade from a Refflex camera to a mirrorless camera the ZV-E10 is certainly among the top candidates. Of course, if you are already a professional photographer this model also has a lot to offer, in fact, I have seen on the internet that with this camera they have made quite interesting short films, your skills and creativity are the limit.
