The fifth round of the Panamerican was coming, after an interesting victory in the 4th game I recovered psychologically and was quite encouraged to play, the championship was in its final stage, in a Swiss tournament it is very important to achieve good results in the final games because the final ranking depends largely on this, the tension was growing, I had to score.

I wrote an article describing the performance of my Venezuela team in this important championship, you can take a look at the following Link.

The game started and the contest began with 1)Nf3 a very flexible opening that can transpose to English opening schemes and even to queenside pawn structures, I developed my game in the best possible way and it was quite interesting because we did not follow such a theoretical variation, in fact much of the match was a creative display by both sides.

In a very early stage of the game I tried to dominate the center but my opponent very aggressively prevented it by sacrificing a pawn, I had the material advantage but he had the initiative and it was quite complicated to materialize the advantage; it was at the last moment when White made a blunder and so I got the victory, in the video I analyze in detail this situation.
