    Thailand tourist visa!
This January my girlfriend and I will go for 3 months in Thailand and I have just discovered that in order to stay more than 60 days, a tourist visa is required, unlike the 30 days, that I could easily stay since I am Italian.
So, basically, for only 30 days of stay, you need a visa that they issue you as soon as you arrive in Thailand, without needing anything else. With this type of visa, it is possible to extend the stay for another 30 days, for a maximum total of 60 days, after which it is necessary to leave Thailand. But you can buy a flight for less than 50 euro, exit from thailand and enter again also the next day, so your visa will restart from day 0.

I will stay for around 90 days, so i went to Rome, to the Thai embassy in Italy to be able to request another type of visa, which will give me the possibility to stay for 60 days, plus an eventual extension / renewal on site for another 30 days, for a maximum of 90 days and a total cost of around 80-90 euros. Plus, obviously the 2 times i went to rome cause they need atleast 5 days to give you back your passport with the visa.

The visa I need is called the Single-Entry Tourist Visa, which is valid for 3 months to be used and entitles you to stay in the Thai territory for 60 days without counting the renewals.

Before you can apply for a visa, you will need some documents.

The passport with an expiry date exceeding 6 months

The visa form that can be downloaded from the official website, completed and signed, with 2 recent passport photos

A copy of the first 3 pages of your passport

Flight ticket, usually paid in full

Hotel reservation or the place where you will stay, which in my case for example will be an apartment booked from airbnb

Bank Statement or Proof of Income with a minimum balance of 20,000 baht, that is around 600 euros.

If you need to enter Thailand several times, there is the Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa (METV), which is valid for 6 months and costs 175 euros, which allows you to enter and leave the Thai territory several times.

Beware, however, that the economic requirements rise to at least 200,000 baht, that is around 6000 euros.

Keep in mind that with this kind of visa is illegal to wotk during your stay in Thailand, and the law there is very strict.

Once the request is made, you will probably have to wait a few days to be able to pick up your passport with a visa, if everything is ok.

Then well, all you have to do is leave and enjoy the journey!

    Have a nice trip!
