Happy monday! I am still trying to keep up fairly regular drumming videos as a log of my progress. On the Drumeo school they had this recent lesson where they showed five different levels of playing Californication by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I thought I could just about manage level three.
This rhythm has what are called 'ghost notes' and this is my first attempt at those. I think they should really be much quieter than I play them, but just getting the right beats in there was hard enough. It is pretty much the same all the way through with a few fills.
On Drumeo I see people doing some really fancy videos with multiple camera angles and I thought I should do this too. I have not played much with video editing, but previously I recorded each part separately. This time I needed to do them at the same time. I recorded one with guvcview from the PC and the other with my phone. I loaded both into Kdenlive for editing. Aligning the clips was actually quite easy as I could see where the beats were. Then I needed to refresh my memory on how to lay out the clips.
I made plenty of mistakes, but I got through the song. I enjoyed the challenge.
