Monday Drumday: Still working on doubles

I have watched quite a few videos on drumming doubles where you are hitting twice in a row with the same stick. It is not as simple as you might suppose as there are various techniques to build speed. I am seeing some definite improvements and my weak right hand seems to be coping.

For a change I was using a metronome. I have GTick in Ubuntu Studio. There are phone apps, but I am recording the videos on my phone as I have audio sync issues when I record from the PC.

I am still considering enrolling on a course, but then I think that might push me into buying a decent drumkit, so it could work out expensive. I would probably have to get an electronic kit to maintain domestic harmony. I am keen to make some progress with my music this year.

I had some whisky for Christmas and it seemed a shame to throw away the box. It is just right for storing drumsticks.
