Los domingos de resurrección se realiza la quema de Judas, que es un acto cultural con raíces religiosas y es una tradición en Venezuela que ha ido disminuyendo con el paso del tiempo, la actividad inicia con la lectura de un testamento de Judas Iscariote uno de los apóstoles de Jesús, quien lo traicionó vendiéndolo a los romanos por 30 monedas de plata. En el testamento se dicen cosas graciosas y con ironía a los miembros de la comunidad, allí Judas va dejando sus pertenencias a los mencionados para el gozo de todos.

Este muñeco simboliza todas las cosas negativas que se quieren eliminar y se transforman con el fuego. Yo tenía muchos años sin ir a una quema de Judas, desde que era niña, las cosas han cambiado, pero se mantiene el objetivo que es reunir a los miembros de una comunidad, entretener, recordar una historia religiosa, crear consciencia de que los malos actos como la avaricia, el robo, el egoísmo tienen consecuencias y son castigados. Yo pasé un grato momento que quiero compartir con ustedes.
