Maha Shivaratri is one of our major festival in honor of Lord Shiva and people fast the entire day and take food only after "Mahadipa" is raised. In the evening, devotees lighten diya at the temple premises till "Mahadipa" is raised to complete their fasting.
Our temple was nicely decorated this time to celebrate the occasion and the morning must have been very blissful. I arrived in the evening, coming from a religious trip that ended at Prayagraj, (also known as Allahabad). It's famous for Triveni Sangam and I brought the water from there and offered it in our temple, as its considered very auspicious. Here are the captures from the evening from our temple premises.
The preparation for the panna prasad to be served after "Mahadipa".
Everyone waiting for the "Mahadipa", watch the video to see the event.
And then the time for the delicious panna prasad. I have definitely missed many devotees as I arrived late, and most of the rituals were in the morning but kudos to our ladies to make these events special.
More to come on my travel soon...
