Hello, dear Hive Open Mic family! I’m hoping that this week 149 goes wonderfully for all of you. On the occasion of the theme "Light of the World" there is a lot to cut according to my appreciation. I associate this topic with God, who is the light that illuminates the souls and hearts of his children; some might give it another totally valid approach.

In this opportunity, I want to present you a cover of a song that makes us question many things, makes us wonder what it would be like if God were one of us, an ordinary citizen trying to make his way in an overwhelming society that has no time to look towards spirituality. If we could talk to him face to face, what would we say to him, and would we be able to look him straight in the eye?

This piece, which was very popular in the 1990s, is called "One of Us" and is performed by American rock-pop singer Joan Osborne, as part of the album Relish, released in 1995.

I hope this cover, in which I sang, played 2 guitars, bass and drums is to your liking; I personally enjoyed the recording process very much. Happy week to all of you!

En ocasión de la temática “Luz del Mundo” hay mucha tela que cortar según mi apreciación. Yo asocio este tópico con Dios, quien es la luz que ilumina el alma y los corazones de sus hijos; algunos podrían darle otro enfoque totalmente válido.

En esta oportunidad, quiero presentarles el cover de una canción que nos hace cuestionarnos muchas cosas, nos lleva a preguntarnos cómo sería todo si Dios fuera uno de nosotros, un ciudadano común y corriente tratando de abrirse paso en un sociedad abrumadora que no tiene tiempo para mirar hacia la espiritualidad. Si pudiéramos hablarle cara a cara, ¿qué le diríamos? y ¿seríamos capaces de verlo directamente a los ojos?

Esta pieza, que contó con gran popularidad en los años 90 lleva por nombre "One of Us" y es interpretada por la cantante de rock-pop estadounidense Joan Osborne, como parte del Álbum Relish, lanzado en 1995.

Espero que este cover, en el que canté, toqué 2 guitarras, el bajo y la batería sea de su agrado; yo personalmente disfruté mucho el proceso de grabación. ¡Feliz semana para todos!
