Today I show you a historical game where the black player Kurt Von bardeleben fails to apply one of the basic principles of chess, castling, this is a chess move that allows us to put safely the king in one of the corners and moves together with the king, I must say that in order to carry it out both pieces, both the king and the rooks, must have remained in their initial squares until the moment of carrying out this move, Both the king and the rooks must have remained in their initial squares until the moment of carrying out this move, but, why is it so important to perform this move, this allows us to remove the king from the center of the board where when the central columns are opened it will be at the mercy of the enemy pieces.

With white pieces is an old and already retired world champion Wilhem Steinitz, as we can see in the image the black king is still in the center while white already castled it, at first glance it seems that the black king can castle and nothing happens, but, the white rook attacks that knight on e7 and if castled that piece would be defenseless and white would capture and be left with a whole piece advantage, but if there is a game that demonstrates how to punish this mistake of the opponent, it is this one. I invite you to watch the video and educate yourself on this basic principle, important for the execution of good play. The board I use to demonstrate this game belongs to Lichess and the image used as a base in the thumbnail is free to use and you can find it in this link, thanks for your visit, greetings.
