Welcome to a new week of the Hive Open Mic! I am incredibly happy to be able to be with all of you sharing great music and witnessing the great talent in this community, which is growing every day. This week brings us together the theme war, chosen by featured artist @jasperdick.

Throughout history, war has been a persistent and heartbreaking scourge, leaving a legacy of destruction and suffering. Even in our time, despite efforts for peace, war remains a formidable challenge. Its roots are intertwined with complex geopolitical dynamics, competing interests and ideological conflicts. The task of combating this scourge demands a continued commitment to diplomacy, negotiation and the search for peaceful solutions.

Today I would like to share with you what I believe has become an anthem that I am sure we have all heard at some point in our lives: the song Zombie, by the Irish Band The Cranberries, released in 1994 and belonging to the album No Need to Argue.

The song is an anti-war lament inspired by the death of two children, 12 and 3 years old, both killed by an Irish Republican Army (IRA) bomb blast on March 20, 1993 in Warrington, England, which also left dozens of people wounded. The theme continues to be renewed and is still relevant because of the war events that still continue to plague the entire world. I hope you like my version.

Yo me siento increíblemente feliz de poder estar junto a todos ustedes compartiendo buena música y siendo testigo del gran talento que hay en esta comunidad, la cual crece cada día más. En esta semana nos reúne el tema guerra, escogido por el artista destacado @jasperdick.

A lo largo de la historia, la guerra ha sido un flagelo persistente y desgarrador, que ha dejado un legado de destrucción y sufrimiento. Incluso en nuestro tiempo, a pesar de los esfuerzos por la paz, la guerra sigue siendo un desafío formidable. Sus raíces se entrelazan con complejas dinámicas geopolíticas, intereses en juego y conflictos ideológicos. La tarea de combatir este flagelo exige un compromiso continuo con la diplomacia, la negociación y la búsqueda de soluciones pacíficas.

Hoy les quiero compartir lo que considero se convirtió en un himno y que estoy más que segura que todos, alguna vez en la vida hemos escuchado y se trata del tema Zombie, de la banda irlandesa The Cranberries, lanzado en el año 1994 y perteneciente al álbum No Need to Argue.

El tema es un lamento en contra de la guerra inspirado en la muerte de dos niños de 12 y 3 años, ambos murieron por el estallido de una bomba del grupo armado Ejército Republicano Irlandés (IRA), el 20 de marzo de 1993 en Warrington, Inglaterra, que también dejó a decenas de personas heridas. El tema se sigue renovando y sigue estando vigente por los hechos bélicos que aún siguen azotando el mundo entero. Espero que les guste mi versión.
