Hola amigos de esta querida comunidad de VCD que celebra su semana #18 del Festival de música Tradicional y Folclórica, como una iniciativa musical. Como siempre me siento muy complacido de poder participar y dar un granito de arena para la promoción y divulgación de la música tradicional de mi país.
Hoy les traigo un merengue venezolano, Criollísima, de unos de los más importantes compositores de música venezolana, se trata del maracayero Henry Martínez, con quizás, la mayor producción musical entre los artistas contemporáneo, y de los más interpretados en nuestro país y además, con una gran acogida por artistas de toda Latinoamérica, con los que ha compartido sus canciones y el escenario.
Sus canciones han sido interpretadas por cantantes de gran trayectoria como Lila Vera, y Jesús Sevillano, de los que también fue su guitarrista; otros como Cesilia Tood, Simón Diaz e Ignacio Izcarray.
Su música tiene una gran riqueza rítmica y armónica, esto se debe a la influencia de la música brasileña y por la onda nueva. Además, se unió a otro músico que podemos calificar como excepcional, se trata de Luis Laguna, quien es además el escritor de la letra de nuestra canción. Con el participo en la agrupación Venezuela 4, grupo que cambió la manera de escuchar la música venezolana. Entre sus integrantes también estaban Carlos Soto, Lencho Amaro y Eliécer Guzmán.
Esta canción, según cuenta el mismo Henry Martínez, nació como un tema instrumental, para la agrupación Venezuela 4, pero que, con el tiempo, y por petición de Jesús Sevillano, Luis Laguna le puso letra, destacando en ella, la belleza de la mujer venezolana y titulándola “Criollísima”.
Esta canción la conozco hace muchos años y me gusta mucho, porque es así como yo, describiría a mi esposa, mujer de piel morena, con hermosos labios acaramelados, de largo cabello y con sus bellos ojos que deslumbran.
