Hello dear friends of the Hive Open Mic community! Week #158 Let's Defeat The Distance.

Esta semana les traigo un himno titulado Cerca de ti, Señor, de la poeta inglesa del Siglo XIX (19) Sarah Adams. La letra de la canción hace referencia a un peregrino que camina hacia su encuentro con Dios. También expresa, la necesidad del cristiano por la limpieza del alma, el perdón de todo pecado, que le permitirá estar cara a cara, frente Dios.

This week I bring you a hymn entitled Nearer to Thee, O Lord, by the 19th century English poet Sarah Adams. The lyrics of the song refer to a pilgrim walking towards his encounter with God. It also expresses the Christian's need for the cleansing of the soul, the forgiveness of all sin, which will allow him to come face to face with God.

Una versión que quizás muchos recuerden es de la película Titanic. Ocurre cuando el barco se está hundiendo y los músicos (cuarteto de cuerdas) deciden seguir tocando y uno a uno se incorpora para tocar esta hermosa canción.

A version that many may remember is from the movie Titanic. It happens when the ship is sinking and the musicians (string quartet) decide to keep playing and one by one they join in to play this beautiful song.
