Greetings to the Afritunes community. I trust that we are all doing great.
If you read my last post, you will see where I talked about buying an amplifier for my guitar.
Well, guess what?
I haven't touched my guitar at all this week, and do you know why? I mistakenly broke the tiniest string, and I am yet to fix it.
Actually, I have given it to someone so they can get it fixed for me, but they've not had the chance to do that.
As I was thinking of what to sing, Sinach's song came to mind. 'Great Are You, Lord'.
I used the microphone that came with the speaker. At first, I felt reluctant because singing with the mic meant that a lot of people would be able to hear me from outside, and I didn't really want that.
Well, what I did was to adjust the volume, and the equalizer, I also didn't bring the mic very close to my mouth in the part where the song required me to be loud.
After singing, I imported it to the video editing app I use, and I used the studio effect to make the sound better.
I sang along with the instrumental of the song.
Singing along with the instrumental track of "Great Are You, Lord" ended up working beautifully. I simply pulled up the melody on YouTube and recorded myself singing over it using my new microphone setup. While it definitely wasn't a professional recording, the studio editing effects on my software helped smooth out some of the rough edges.
Using the instrumental background track kept me on rhythm and key. I am hopeful that I will get my guitar back before the end of this week, and in the worst-case scenario, I will get it on Sunday, and then I can continue practising.
I hope you all have an amazing week ahead.
