Retro Music week 10 / Cover "Catch the Wind - Donovan" by @jasperdick (ENG/ESP)

Hello everybody on Hive and especially the Hive Music Community! My name is @jasperdick and I'm writing (and singing) to you from the Garden Route about 5-7 hours’ drive from Cape Town, South Africa!

This is Week 10 of the “Retro Music” challenge! The aim of the game is to play a cover of anything from the 1920s to the 1990s, anything that would be considered a bit “Retro” in this day and age, which opens up a world of possibilities!

This week I would like to cover the beautiful song “Catch the Wind”, that invokes themes of unrequited love and free-spirited ladies, released by Scottish (not Irish as I accidentally said in the video) singer-songwriter Donovan in 1965.

Donovan released all sorts of ethereal, and even psychedelic songs like “Hurdy Gurdy Man”, “Colours”, “Mellow Yellow”, “Atlantis”, “Jennifer Juniper”, and a personal favourite of mine “Riki Tiki Tavi” (inspired by the Jungle Book story by Rudyard Kipling). He was often compared to Bob Dylan at the time.

¡Hola a todos en Hive y especialmente a la comunidad musical de Hive! ¡Mi nombre es @jasperdick y les escribo (y canto) desde Garden Route, a unas 5-7 horas en automóvil desde Ciudad del Cabo, Sudáfrica!

¡Esta es la semana 10 del desafío "Música retro"! El objetivo del juego es jugar una versión de cualquier cosa, desde la década de 1920 hasta la década de 1990, cualquier cosa que se considere un poco "retro" en esta época, ¡lo que abre un mundo de posibilidades!

Esta semana me gustaría hacer un cover de la hermosa canción "Catch the Wind", que invoca temas de amor no correspondido y damas de espíritu libre, lanzada por el cantautor escocés (no irlandés como dije accidentalmente en el video) Donovan en 1965.

Donovan lanzó todo tipo de canciones etéreas e incluso psicodélicas como "Hurdy Gurdy Man", "Colours", "Mellow Yellow", "Atlantis", "Jennifer Juniper" y una de mis favoritas, "Riki Tiki Tavi" (inspirada en el libro de la selva de Rudyard Kipling).
