Hive Book Club : Video Recording of the Fourteenth Book Voice Chat Discord Session!!!

Hello community, @stevenson7 here, and as always I will be sharing with you guys the recording of the last Hive Book club Voice Chat on Discord. This is in a bid to encourage you to join in on the fun (if you haven't already).

Last Saturday, 19th of February 2022 we had our thirteenth official book voice chat and it was a blast.

The topic was

Topic: What character in a book you think was severely wronged by the author?

This is the type of topic that would almost always spring up a conversation due to varied opinions and that was exactly what it did.

• Asits customary, I answered first. It was difficult thibnking of a character that an author wronged but I ecventually settled for Gary Boone in the book, Dogs don't tell Jokes by Louis Sachar. I felt the author was contradicting with his personality.

As fun as the topic was, an intellectual debate erupted up (PS. that is exactly what the voice chat is about).

• @screamingsteve brought athe perspective that a character is never really wronged in the generic sense. He goes on to say it was the authors work, hence is story and decision to warp any character to the autors suiting.

• @drceeyou and @young-boss-karin also got deep into the conversation, both sides completely right in thier opinion. The latter deliberating on the book, The handmanids tale by Margarett Atwood. A worthy read.

• @rexsanguis ventured into the beatiful work of Chinua Achebe Things fall apart. Particularly the character Okonkwo.

• @osarueseosato had problems with internet but managed to share the work of Chinua Achebe again, A man of the People, particularly focusing on the character Odili.

Even though she was unavailable, @khaleesii picked the lovely topic that got the conversation flying. We had a good laugh too. It was a great session alround.

Every saturday the hive book club Admins organise a voice chat where booklovers come to talk about books and all. Nothing official, just a casual chat of random folks with similar interest, having a chat. You can also opt to stay mute. Just listening in, is fine. You can join through this discord link.
