Hola Querida Comunidad de Hive Open Mic, Semana #101, mi usuario @geronimamunoz, disfrutando de nuestro Merengue Caraqueño, hoy les traigo un tema titulado Carmen la que contaba 16 años, popularizado por Los Antaños del Stadium, cuyo autor es Balbino García.

El Merengue Caraqueño, tiene toda una historia , desde finales del siglo XIX y comienzos del siglo XX, se extiende por toda Caracas y luego parte de Venezuela por los años 1946, luego fue en incremento hasta generar su inclusión a nivel musical y cultural, ya que, se comenzó a bailar por las calles con las Retretas en el Carnaval, aparte, se ejecutaba en todas las fiestas de la época, tanto en fiestas patronales, decembrinas y cumpleaños.

Este género es muy contagioso, alegre e invita a bailar en un solo cuadrito con bastante acercamiento entre la pareja, además, puliendo la hebilla, lo pueden observar en el video que investigué por YouTube, Carmen la que contaba 16 años, desde el punto de vista literario tiene una letra jocosa, picaresca que contagia al movimiento.

La música cañonera, merengue antoñero o caraqueño, nos representa aquí en Caracas creando un nuevo estilo en la época de los años veinte, se mide en tiempo de 5/8, se ejecuta con instrumentos como el cuatro venezolano, el rallo, el redoblante, Saxofón, entre otros. Por otra parte, para la época de la Ciudad de los techos rojos, era un baile que se realizaba en sitios de poca aceptación, llamados Mabiles, eran lugares mal vistos por la sociedad del momento, los caballeros aristócratas se escapaban a los mabiles o cabaret a bailar con mujeres que tenían mala reputación en aquel momento.

En Venezuela el merengue Rucaneao, lo ejecutan diversos grupos de música tradicional y popular, entre ellos, Los Antaños del Stadium, Los Cañoneros dirigido por nuestro Maestro @Ylich, su hermana @heliorsini con los cuales tenemos el privilegio de tenerlos entre nosotros, siempre brindando lo mejor de nuestra música caraqueña. Cabe destacar, la Fundación Bigott también ha realizado un excelente trabajo de proyección de este género, El Profesor Daniel Gil, Marlene García con sus negritas, Ismael Querales, el Maestro Teo Capriles y si nos remontamos más atrás, el Maestro Vicente Emilio Sojo, Herney Marín, Alexander Lugo, entre otros investigadores – músicos que han dejado grandes aportes a nuestra tradición.
