Te despiertas en una habitación oscura y fría. No recuerdas cómo llegaste allí ni qué día es. Solo sabes que estás solo y que nadie puede oírte. Intentas moverte, pero te das cuenta de que estás atado a una silla con cables y electrodos pegados a tu cabeza. Ves una pantalla frente a ti que dice: "Experimento 13: Inicio".

Sientes un escalofrío recorrer tu espina dorsal. ¿Qué te van a hacer? ¿Quiénes son ellos? ¿Por qué te han elegido?

Tratas de calmarte y pensar en una forma de escapar, pero no se te ocurre nada.

De repente, la pantalla cambia y muestra una imagen borrosa de un rostro. Reconoces esa cara. Es la tuya.

De inmediato, una voz se escucha por unos altavoces.

Hola, sujeto 13. Bienvenido al experimento más avanzado de la historia. Estamos a punto de entrar en tu mente y explorar tus miedos más profundos. No debes tener miedo, nada malo pasará. Solo queremos estudiar tu reacción y aprender de ti.

No puedes creer lo que oyes. ¿Entrar en tu mente? ¿Explorar tus miedos?
Quieres gritar, protestar, negarte, pero no puedes. Tu boca está sellada con una cinta adhesiva y tu cuerpo está paralizado por una droga. Solo puedes mirar la pantalla con horror.

La voz continúa: empezaremos con algo sencillo. Un recuerdo de tu infancia. Algo que te marcó para siempre. Algo que te hizo sentir miedo por primera vez.

La pantalla se vuelve negra y luego se ilumina con otra imagen. Ves una casa antigua y abandonada en medio del bosque. La reconoces al instante. Es la casa donde viviste cuando eras niño. La casa donde ocurrió todo.

Sientes un nudo en el estómago. Sabes lo que viene a continuación. La escena que has tratado de olvidar durante años. La que te persigue en tus pesadillas.

Ves a tu yo de seis años entrando en la casa con curiosidad. Tu madre les grita desde el auto que no entren allí, que es peligroso, que vuelvan.

Pero no la escuchan. Estás fascinado por esa casa misteriosa y oscura. Quieres ver qué hay dentro. Quieres descubrir sus secretos.

Tu hermano mayor te dice que te va a mostrar algo muy divertido. Te lleva al sótano, donde hay una puerta con un candado. Te dice que hay un tesoro escondido y que solo él sabe la combinación.

Te pide que le ayudes a abrir la puerta, que empujes con todas tus fuerzas mientras él gira para abrir el candado. Tú le haces caso, confiando en él.

Pero cuando la puerta se abre, no hay ningún tesoro. Solo hay oscuridad.

Y algo más. Algo que se mueve. Algo que gruñe. Algo que salta sobre ti.

Tu hermano suelta la puerta y sale corriendo del sótano, dejándote solo con la bestia.

Tú gritas y gritas y gritas.

Pero nadie viene a salvarte.

La pantalla se apaga y vuelve a mostrar tu rostro.

La voz dice: fin del primer nivel. Has superado el test de miedo con éxito. Ahora pasaremos al siguiente nivel. Prepárate para enfrentarte a tu peor pesadilla.

Te quedas helado. No quieres seguir.

No quieres saber qué más tienen preparado para ti.

Pero no tienes elección.

You wake up in a dark and cold room. You don't remember how you got there or what day it is. You only know that you are alone and that no one can hear you. You try to move, but you realize that you are strapped to a chair with wires and electrodes attached to your head. You see a screen in front of you that says: "Experiment 13: Start".

You feel a shiver run down your spine. What are they going to do to you? Who are they? Why have they chosen you?

You try to calm down and think of a way to escape, but nothing comes to mind.

Suddenly, the screen changes and shows a blurred image of a face. You recognize that face. It is yours.

Immediately, a voice is heard over loudspeakers.

Hello, subject 13. Welcome to the most advanced experiment in history. We are about to enter your mind and explore your deepest fears. You don't need to be afraid, nothing bad will happen. We just want to study your reaction and learn from you.

You can't believe your ears. Enter your mind, and Explore your fears.
You want to scream, to protest, to refuse, but you cannot. Your mouth is taped shut and your body is paralyzed by a drug. You can only stare at the screen in horror.

The voice continues: We'll start with something simple. A memory from your childhood. Something that marked you forever. Something that made you feel fear for the first time.

The screen goes black and then lights up with another image. You see an old, abandoned house in the middle of the forest. You recognize it instantly. It's the house where you lived as a child. The house where everything happened.

You feel a knot in your stomach. You know what's coming next. The scene you've been trying to forget for years. The one that haunts you in your nightmares.

You see your six-year-old self entering the house with curiosity. Your mother yells at them from the car not to go in there, that it's dangerous, to come back.

But you don't listen to her. You are fascinated by that mysterious, dark house. You want to see what's inside. You want to discover its secrets.

Your older brother tells you that he is going to show you something very funny. He takes you to the basement, where there is a door with a lock on it. He tells you that there is a hidden treasure and that only he knows the combination.

He asks you to help him open the door, to push with all your strength while he turns to open the lock. You listen to him, trusting him.

But when the door opens, there is no treasure. There is only darkness.

And something else. Something that moves. Something that growls. Something that jumps at you.

Your brother lets go of the door and runs out of the basement, leaving you alone with the beast.

You scream and scream and scream.

But no one is coming to save you.

The screen turns off and shows your face again.

The voice says: end of the first level. You have successfully passed the fear test. Now we will move on to the next level. Get ready to face your worst nightmare.

You freeze. You don't want to go on.

You don't want to know what else they have in store for you.

But you have no choice.
