    Welcome to another Hive Learners Creative Sunday Initiative with George Dee.

    Every Sunday, the community gives members the opportunity to show their creative side and today, I will be showing everyone how to prepare plantain sauce. I have shared two different sauces before and this is great as well.

    The name says everything about the sauce and even from the thumbnail, you can see the heavy presence of plantain in the sauce. As Nigerians, we have a lot of things in common including eating rice or spaghetti for breakfast, it is a traditional thing and these meals can get boring eating them the same way every day.

    It's either we prepare it white or semi-jollof, making it fried is expensive so we have fewer ways of twisting our foods. To solve the issue of getting tired of a meal, using different sauces every time you have the meal can make a difference.

    Plantain sauce is one of my favourite for rice, it has the magic that would make you eat more just because of how delicious it taste. Plantain is a natural sweetener so imagine adding it to your sauce, it means you are taking the deliciousness of it to a whole new level.

    Recipe

    • Plantain
    • Beef
    • Basil leaf
    • Fish
    • Palm oil
    • Groundnut oil
    • Pepper
    • Onion
    • Salt
    • Seasoning cubes
    • Pepper soup Powder

    That's a whole lot of recipes but they don't really cost much and instead of beef you can use sausage, crayfish and other things you want.


    Preparation.


    Preparing plantain sauce is very easy and it's just like the regular sauce but with the touch of plantain.

    • Before anything, all the recipes must be thoroughly cleaned, Always remember that health is wealth.

    • All recipes that needed to be processed were processed before going properly into the preparation.

    • To begin with, I cooked the meat and fish with seasoning and onions.

    • I fried the plantain and meat as well.

    • I poured the fried plantain and meat into the frying pan and put it on fire.

    • I poured some palm oil into the frying pan as well You can use groundnut oil if you want, it doesn't have to be palm oil

    • I added the onions, scrambled fish, pepper and seasoning. I allowed them to fry for about 5 minutes under lower heat.

    • At the end, I put the basil leaves in the sauce and allowed it to fry for another minute before turning off the heat.


    The sauce is really yummy and I can go on eating it every day. It can be served with rice, macaroni, beans and even eat it alone if you use lots of plantains.

    I made Macaroni for the plantain sauce and it was really delicious, it was more than just putting fried plantain on your meal. The pepper, seasoning and other really secreted lots of goodness into plantain.
