Painting a sunset on the railway - Pintando un atardecer en el ferrocarril [ENG-ESP]

Hello friends, I hope you are well, I am really excited to now be able to share my drawings and paintings in short video formats, the truth is it has been quite an experience for me. On this occasion I want to share with you a painting that I made, I used as reference a photograph that I took with my cell phone of a beautiful sunset from the railway, I always walk through that place hoping that there will always be beautiful sunsets. I made this painting using a piece of recycled MDF wood as a canvas and its measurements are 26 centimeters wide by 20 centimeters high, and painted with acrylic paint. Hope you like.

As I mentioned before, I used recycled wood, in this case MDF wood, which is a synthetic material made from paper, it is very useful for many things and as a canvas it is a great alternative, since fabric canvases are somewhat expensive. I drew the sketch of the landscape with pencil and began painting the sky, first with a layer of a very light blue, combined with white, on this layer I will then begin to put the rest of the colors to achieve the beautiful sunset.

Afterwards I began to paint some darker clouds, what I like most about this process is doing everything possible to show the depth of the clouds, I used a blue color called Ultramarine, mixed with cobalt violet and titanium white, playing with this Mix it and make that big bluish cloud with a tone of red wine. A flat brush is enough to achieve this, and then for the rest of the details, a cat's tongue brush.

I also begin to add warm colors, this is the moment of contrast, and for those who like to contemplate sunsets like me, it is something magical, so I put a lot of effort and passion into making the warm colors a beautiful contrast. I used lemon yellow and red, and in the middle white, in this scale I began to draw the clouds furthest from the horizon and as the sun's rays travel through the clouds they become violet and bluish.

Next I add more dark colors, mixing blues, with some green and also violet. The color white always saves the day to be able to make the mixtures and ensure that the color scales do not clash with the shape that I am giving to the clouds, although it seems like a quick process, it takes time, and sometimes you have to take a few steps back to see how it turns out.

The turn was for the earth, so I drew the train rails, here I was very patient for these details, and I switched to finer brushes to capture each detail and add it in the best way. The surrounding vegetation is painted with a mixture of ocher as the most dominant color, but combined with green and ultramarine blue. You can see in the brush strokes how I played with the colors to respect the shadows and reflections on the stones.

This is how my painting was finished, I was very satisfied, I liked the results although I am not looking for hyperrealism I try to represent what I see adding my personal touch with my brushstroke, I think it is the most important thing, leaving what you feel through the painting. Hola amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, realmente me encuentro muy emocionado el poder compartir ahora mis dibujos y pinturas en formatos de videos cortos, la verdad ha sido toda una experiencia para mí. En esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes una pintura que hice, utilicé como referencia una fotografía que tomé con mi celular de un hermoso atardecer desde el ferrocarril, siempre camino por ese lugar esperando que siempre haya hermosos atardeceres. Hice esta pintura usando como lienzo un trozo de madera MDF reciclada y sus medidas son 26 centímetros de ancho por 20 centímetros de alto, y pintado con pintura acrílica. Espero que les guste.

Como mencioné antes, utilicé madera reciclada, en este caso madera MDF, que es un material sintético hecho a base de papel, es muy útil para muchas cosas y como lienzo resulta una gran alternativa, ya que los lienzos de tela son algo costosos. Dibujé el boceto del paisaje con lápiz y comencé pintando el cielo, primero con una capa de un azul muy claro, combinado con blanco, sobre esta capa comenzaré luego a poner el resto de colores para lograr la hermosa puesta de sol.

Después comencé a pintar unas nubes más oscuras, lo que más me gusta de este proceso es hacer lo posible para que se vea la profundidad de las nubes, utilicé un color azul llamado Ultramarine, mezclado con violeta de cobalto y blanco titanio, jugando con esta mezcla voy haciendo esa gran nube azulada con un tono de vino tinto. Un pincel plano es suficiente para lograrlo, y después para el resto de detalles, un pincel lengua de gato.

También comienzo a agregar colores cálidos, este es el momento de contraste, y para quienes les gusta contemplar atardeceres, así como yo, es algo mágico, así que puse mucho empeño y pasión en que los colores cálidos hicieran un bello contraste. Utilicé amarillo limón y rojo, y en el medio color blanco, en esta escala comencé a dibujar las nubes más alejadas del horizonte y que a medida que los rayos del sol viajan por las nubes se van haciendo violetas y azulados.

Seguidamente agrego más colores oscuros, mezclando azules, con algo de verde y también violeta. El color blanco siempre salva el día para poder hacer las mezclas y que las escalas de colores no desentonen con la forma que les voy dando a las nubes, aunque parece un proceso rápido, lleva su tiempo, y a veces hay que dar unos pasos hacia atrás para ver cómo va quedando.

El turno fue para la tierra, así que dibujé los rieles del tren, aquí fui muy paciente para estos detalles, y cambié a pinceles más finos para capturar cada detalle y agregarlo de la mejor forma. La vegetación alrededor está pintada con una mezcla de color ocre como el más dominante, pero unido al color verde y azul ultramarino. Pueden ver en las pinceladas como jugué con los colores para respetar las sombras y los reflejos sobre las piedras.

Así quedó terminado mi cuadro, quedé muy conforme, me gustaron los resultados, aunque no busco el hiperrealismo trato de representar lo que veo agregando con mi pincelada mi toque personal, creo que es lo más importante, dejar a través de la pintura lo que sientes.
