    ENGLISH

Athena is in my top favorite Olympian gods, popularly known for being the goddess of wisdom and strategy, is one of the most important deities of ancient Greece, has a truly significant role. So much so that her popularity has transcended to the present day. Today, elements characteristic of the goddess are still used.

For example, the bird that represents Athena, the owl is the symbol of philosophy, also in governmental palaces the image of the goddess is still used as a representative element.

Athena is the daughter of Zeus and the titanide Metis, although after a prophecy that said that the second son of Metis would dethrone Zeus, the latter devours the titanide while on a ribbon. Eventually, Zeus began to suffer from migraines, and asks Hephaestus to split his head in two with his axe, in order to remove the pain, but after giving him the axe, from his head emerges a beautiful goddess in war clothes. The birth of the head of Zeus makes me think that gave origin to her name Athena. Which means "the wisdom of God ".
