METHOD I USED IN PREPARING THIS NATIVE SOUP

    It is another creative Sunday, the Sunday when you can utilize your skills and be monetized with it, the Sunday that welcomes all talent.

    Today I will be showing us the method I used in preparing one of the Nigeria native soups which is melon soup Also known as Egusi soup.

    Firstly I will share with us all the necessary ingredients

    • Melon
    • Pepper
    • Any protein of your choice
    • Crayfish
    • Vegetable leaf
    • Seasoning cubes
    • Salt

    Hygiene is the first step in preparing any food in your kitchen, wash your hands and then wash all your ingredients thoroughly before proceeding to other steps.

    We have different methods for preparing this native soup, some people prefer the direct method while some prefer the frying method, today I will be using the frying method and I would love you all to tell me the method you are using in making this soup.

    Take the quantity of the melon you wish to use in a bowl then mix it with water to form a paste, you can add a pinch of salt into it but it is optional, I love to add salt to the melon while mixing it to give it an adorable flavor, after this process set it aside and move to other steps.

    I blend my pepper with my food processor because I don't need a smooth blending, you can blend your pepper so smooth depends on your preference but I do not need a smooth blending.

    Place your cooking pot on your gas and add your red oil into your pan, heat for a minute, and add your paste into it but by bit, fry this on low heat to avoid burning your melon, after adding all the paste leave it to fry for some minutes and monitor it by turning it, this is very necessary because uncooked melon can disturb tummy very well, let it fry well and avoid burning.

    After some minutes add your pepper and a little water, add your seasoning cubes and salt, mix, and cover for a minute, after a minute add your washed protein into it, and mix well so that it will incorporate into the soup well, add water to it just little amount of water, cover to cook for two minutes and check back after two minutes.

    After that, the soup is fully prepared go ahead and add your washed vegetable leaf into it and mix, off your gas at this moment the soup, and let the heat cook the vegetables.

    Your soup is ready and very easy to make, it doesn't take much time and you can pair it with any swallow of your choice and I am sure you will enjoy it.
