HELPING MY NIECE WITH HER SCHOOL PROJECT

I was in my room when my niece knocked at my door and said to me that she had a school project and requested for my help, she is a girl I love so much because I was sleeping when she came and I did not have any option other than to fulfill her wish.

I asked her what the project was all about and she said paper mache, I know nothing about this because during my time there was nothing like that, I quickly rushed to the internet to find out what is it all about, and then I saw that it was a process of using paper to mold anything you want.

We started by shredding papers and then soaked them in hot water so that they would be soft, we did this process overnight and the next day she used a mortal and pestle to grind it in other to get that smooth texture.

After that we packed it in a bowl added more water and left it for some minutes, we proceeded by mixing our starch, well the purpose of the starch is to hold the paper and able to mold anything we want to mold, we mixed the starch and then set it aside.

The next process was squeezing out the smooth texture or you can also filter it out with your sieve, then we added the mixed starch and used our hands to turn it together, and she decided to mold a washing hand bowl.

We rubbed the back of the bowl with vegetable oil in other to make it easy to remove the bowl from the paper after drying then we started putting the starched paper on it and left it to dry for days.

That was the end of our project and she took it to school the next two days because it took two days to dry.
