    Hi guys馃馃
It's me again, @emyekanem. It's wonderful to be a part of this week's open mic participation. I'm so in love with the week's theme as I have encountered a lot of amazing and surprisingly excellent entries. After pondering for days on a song that will be in accordance to the theme, the children's poem, "My Mother" crossed my mind. This poem is one of the numerous children's poem that has been recited and sung for a great number of years till date.

Songs like this helps to grow the relationship between mothers and the children while also bonding them. This song doesn't only relate to children alone. It bonds every human who has a mother or a mother figure in their life. It opens their mind to the love a mother has for her children.

The theme of being in love with nature and mother earth can be related to the poem, by highlighting the role of a mother in nurturing and caring for her child, much like how mother nature provides for and sustains all of life on earth. The lyrics of the song describe a mother as someone who kept them safe and protected, just as nature shelters and protects all living beings.

The imagery of the infant's head being watched over and the mother's arms being a place of comfort convey the idea of a loving and nurturing relationship that is similar to the one between humans and the natural world. The theme of being in love with nature and mother earth emphasizes the importance of valuing and protecting the planet that sustains us, just as we value and cherish the love and care that our mothers provide.

The lyrics of the poem is written below for your perusal
    Thanks for having me馃鉂わ笍馃

Who fed me from her gentle breast,
And hush鈥檇 me in her arms to rest,
And on my cheek sweet kisses prest?
    My Mother.

When sleep forsook my open eye,
Who was it sung sweet hushaby,
And rock鈥檇 me that I should not cry?
    My Mother.

Who sat and watched my infant head,
When sleeping in my cradle bed,
And tears of sweet affection shed?
    My Mother.

When pain and sickness made me cry,
Who gazed upon my heavy eye,
And wept for fear that I should die?
    My Mother.

Who dress鈥檇 my doll in clothes so gay,
And taught me pretty how to play.
And minded all I had to say?
    My Mother.

Who taught my infant lips to pray,
And love God鈥檚 holy book and day.
And walk in Wisdom鈥檚 pleasant way?
    My Mother.

And can I ever cease to be
    Affectionate and kind to thee,
Who was so very kind to me?
    My Mother.

    Ah, no! the thought I cannot bear;
And if God please my life to spare,
I hope I shall reward thy care,
    My Mother.

Who ran to help me when I fell,
And would some pretty story tell,
Or kiss the place to make it well?
    My Mother.

And when I see thee hang thy head,
鈥楾will be my turn to watch thy bed.
And tears of sweet affection shed,
    My Mother.
