Welcome to this section of Noticiero FullDeportivo, in which we will address the question: How to make people fall in love with chess? Si me gente linda, we will be talking with science sport coaches about the benefits of its practice, and they will share with us tips for children, youth and adults to love this sport like chess
It was an event in which there were more than 100 players, who came from different parts of Arequipa to enjoy the passion of playing Chess. Since I was a child I have played tournaments, and there is no doubt that you feel something very special when you participate in one of them, a kind of adrenaline for the expectation of how our performance will be, if the openings we have studied are going to work, the excitement of meeting colleagues, former teachers. As the great Lazaro Cotilla, an excellent international chess arbiter, who unfortunately passed away a few years ago, told me: a chess tournament is a great party.
It is important in the career of a chess player to interact with players from other latitudes, although the internet has broken the barriers of space and time, nothing like playing a game in person, having your rival there, shaking hands after the end of the game, and sharing opinions about it. And as spectators, watching veterans of this sport face each other, it is impressive the emotion you feel, because of the expectation of the result that will happen.
Leonardo Cahuapaza, Arnold Ramos vs. Santiago Ludena, and being a spectator watching a game of such level, I would dare to say that it is the equivalent of witnessing a master class, you learn a lot. These players are an example that when chess is cultivated with a lot of discipline, there are many results that we can achieve, both in sports and in life itself. And from that point of view, it seemed important to me the interaction with Chess Coaches, so that they share with us the secrets to make a person fall in love with this sport.
This is how we interacted with Francoise Mendoza, a young trainer who invites us to reflect on the vocation with which we do things, she points out that this is a fundamental factor to do things well, which in the case of teaching chess is to awaken in children the love for the game. Francoise Mendoza indicates that it is a gradual process, in which the child is not forced. Guillermo Lugo, a trainer with 24 years of experience, tells us about the benefits of Chess, highlighting the development of memory, concentration and values such as responsibility, through "thinking before acting".
At the same time, coach Guillermo Lugo of the FANTASY CHESS club highlights the excitement of seeing a former student "Francoise Mendoza" lead his own academy and bring his students to play a tournament. How nice in the work of a coach, to see the evolution of your pupils, from my humble opinion I think that is the best of the payments.
I also took the opportunity to interact with Arnold Ramos, director of the MENTES GENIALES academy. Arnold has been working with high performance athletes and reflects on the importance of instilling discipline towards training, indicating that discipline ultimately overcomes talent, and that it is important to train at home to achieve great results. In this sense Raul Diaz, director of ACADEMIA UNIVERSAL DE AJEDREZ, highlights the importance of the different phases of the game: opening, middle game and endgame. Indicating that it is key that the first moves lead you to a comfortable position in the middle game, characterized by the possibilities of continuing to fight.
