Esta es la segunda entrega de covers en VHS, un proyecto conceptual que va de la mano de mi proyecto solista "Enhok"

De la nostalgia

Con estos covers mi objetivo es hacer tributo a las canciones de los años 80 y 90 que he disfrutado desde que empecé a escuchar música por pasión.
Además de eso espero poder traer un poco la nostalgia auditiva usando sintetizadores clásicos para darles un toque diferente a todas las canciones y también añado un toque visual para todos los que vivieron la época de rebobinar cintas y limpiar cabezales del VHS donde veian peliculas y grababan sus programas favoritos.

El tema de hoy

En esta ocasión decidí interpretar un tema de Nirvana titulado "Something in the way"

Esta es una canción muy íntima y sentida, y por respeto a su esencia decidí mantener el alma de la canción que es la guitarra. Pero como yo no tengo guitarra en casa, y solo dispongo de sintetizadores, decidí tomar un loop de 4 compases de la guitarra original y duplicarlo para tenerlo como base del tema.

Luego encima y llegando a los coros agregué la batería electrónica, un bajo, violines, un sintetizador con las notas del cello y otro sinte de ambiente.
Todo esto con el uso de múltiples emuladores de sintetizadores clásicos como el ARP 2600 o el MiniMoog.

Además, grabé la segunda voz que está a mitad del coro para no perder esa armonía clave.

This is the second release of covers on VHS, a conceptual project that goes hand in hand with my solo project "Enhok".

Remembering an Era

With these covers my goal is to pay tribute to the songs from the 80's and 90's that I have enjoyed since I started listening to music out of passion.
Besides that I hope to bring a little bit of aural nostalgia using classic synthesizers to give a different touch to all the songs and also add a visual touch for all those who lived the era of rewinding tapes and cleaning VHS heads where they watched movies and recorded their favorite shows.

About today´s song

This time I decided to play a Nirvana song called "Something in the way".

This is a very intimate and heartfelt song, and out of respect for its essence >I decided to keep the soul of the song which is the guitar. But since I don't have a guitar at home, and I only have synthesizers, I decided to take a 4 bars loop of the original guitar and duplicate it to have it as the base of the song.

Then on top of it and getting to the chorus I added electronic drums, a bass, violins, a synthesizer with the notes of the cello and another ambient synth.
All this with the use of multiple classic synthesizer emulators like the ARP 2600 or the MiniMoog.

Also, I recorded the second voice in the middle of the chorus so as not to lose that key harmony.
