Saludos amigos caminantes! Este miércoles me gustaría llevarlos a recorrer en un vídeo uno de los pueblos tradicionales del estado Táchira en Venezuela, se trata de la localidad de Peribeca.

Días anteriores estuve comentando un poco sobre la arquitectura y el diseño de este pintoresco poblado y especialmente sobre su iglesia y sus calles de piedra. Hoy les comentaré un poco sobre la gastronomía y algunos datos curiosos del pueblo.

A fabulous day at Peribeca

Greetings fellow hikers! This Wednesday I would like to take you on a video tour of one of the traditional villages of the state of Táchira in Venezuela, the town of Peribeca.

Previous days I was commenting a little about the architecture and design of this picturesque village and especially about its church and its stone streets. Today I will tell you a little about the gastronomy and some curious facts about the town.

En los andes venezolanos tenemos un expresión muy popular que nos identifica como andinos: Toche, que hace referencia a alguien torpe o a algo inutil. Pero últimamente las tiendas adoptaron la expresión para identificar que son tiendas con dueños andinos. Es divertido encontrar estos lugares como la Toche esquina una cafetería que está ubicada en el Boulevard del pueblo de Peribeca.

Pero en este paseo, fuimos a comer en un restaurante estilo campestre ubicado en la entrada del pueblo llamado la Parrilla de Alejo. Donde recibimos una muy buena atención y la comida muy deliciosa.

In the Venezuelan Andes we have a very popular expression that identifies us as Andeans: Toche, which refers to someone clumsy or something useless. But lately the stores adopted the expression to identify that they are stores with Andean owners. It is fun to find these places like the Toche esquina a cafeteria that is located on the Boulevard in the town of Peribeca.

But on this tour, we went to eat at a country style restaurant located at the entrance of the village called La Parrilla de Alejo. Where we received a very good attention and the food was delicious.

La comida tradicional conformada por sopa de verduras y ensalada cocina se hizo presente en nuestra mesa. Una jarra de aguapanela que es la bebida de panela de caña de azúcar con limón que preferimos en Venezuela. Los tostones de platano verde con queso y el cafecito negro para terminar un almuerzo de lujo.

The traditional meal of vegetable soup and salad was present at our table. A pitcher of aguapanela which is the sugar cane panela drink with lemon that we prefer in Venezuela. The green plantain tostones with cheese and black coffee to finish a luxurious lunch.

En el pueblo comimos fresas con crema y una bebida de maracuyá que lleva algo de alcohol. Como era madre designada solamente le di un sorbo.

In town we had strawberries with cream and a passion fruit drink with some alcohol in it. As I was a designated mother I only took a sip.

La mascota del lugar nos recibió con cariño, igual que toda la gente de este poblado que es amigable y cordial. El gatito precioso, llegó al restaurante de bebé en un año nuevo, así que lo bautizaron Año Nuevo. Mi hija se divirtió mucho jugando con el gatito.

The mascot of the place received us warmly, just like all the people of this town who are friendly and cordial. The precious kitten, arrived at the restaurant as a baby in a new year, so they baptized it New Year. My daughter had a lot of fun playing with the kitten.

Hace unos 10 años aproximadamente que no visitaba Peribeca. Así que para mi fue genial visitarlo y traer a mi hija por primera vez a este bonito lugar.

It has been about 10 years since I last visited Peribeca. So for me it was great to visit and bring my daughter for the first time to this beautiful place.
