Hey Foodies
Today I tried making some chicken and vegetable curry pies.
Yesterday while I was out shopping I picked up some shortcrust pastry mix
All we need to do is add some water and we have a nice easy to work with dough
Time to prepare the chicken...
Were going to add some mixed vegetables'..
Now the chicken is cooked I added some curry powder...
Some chilli flakes to add a little extra heat...
I added some yellow split peas to thicken the currie up a bit.
I used a glass to cut some circles out of the pastry dough...
I used a cake tray to hold the pastry.
Now its time to add our curry filling.
Now lets add the pie top...
And add them to the oven.
Let them cook until beautifully golden brown
MMMMMMM :) Look at those lovely golden pies :D
The crispy shortcrust pastry worked really well here, its kinda biscuity and really compliments the taste of the curry.
This was my first time trying this ,I will definitely try this again with different fillings.
